"SW" stands for "short-wave". That's the label out of the 1940s and 50s for the radio bands

at higher frequencies than commercial AM broadcast. They're used for international broadcast,

and a lot of other services.

The term is very imprecise, and doesn't refer to any hard and fast range of frequencies.

When people used to talk about "short-wave", they were generally referring to the bands

maybe from 1.6 MHz to 30 MHz. The bands included on your radio with the "SW" label on it

probably fall into this range. There isn't as much interesting listening on those bands as

there was a few decades ago; but you should still scan them, slowly, some evening, just

to see what you can find, if you've never done it before.

There are only 50 liberal radio stations in the USA, all the rest are conservative which is close to 2000. The 50 Progressive stations are located in only 23 states and DC.

These 13 states have only 1 liberal station: Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Maryland, New Hampshire, North and South Carolina. Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Washington.

These 6 states have 2 liberal stations: DC, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota and N. Mexico.

These 2 states have 4 liberal stations: Massachusetts and New York.

Florida has 6 liberal stations and California has 9.

The remaining 27 states of the union have 0 liberal stations: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Frequency and amplitude are two entirely different measurements. In a sense, its like asking how height and weight are different.

Amplitude of a wave is how strong it is. This means it has very high spots, and very low spots, with a large distance in between them.

Frequency is how often this wave repeats. This can be seen by how close the repeating parts of the wave are together, and how sharp of ups and downs it has, because it has to reach those quicker.

Here are a few things that radio waves can do:

1. Communications (TV, Commercial radio, Ham radio etc.)

2. Heat things up, (Microwaves are just extremely short radio waves)

3. They can travel extremely fast (At the speed of light)

this is a tough one to answer without knowing more about it. is it a factory radio or an aftermarket? has it just started, or has it always made this buzzing?

generally, buzzing occurs when someone's installed a new stereo, and/or amplifier & speakers, and either by lack of knowledge or lack of care, has either wired it up using existing wiring, or wired it up not realizing it's a corvette & the body isn't a good place to ground stereo equipment. 99 out of 100 buzzing noises on aftermarket setups happen because the installer failed to ground all components properly AND all components to the SAME point. this will cause a voltage potential difference between the battery & the power at the stereo/amp that will amplify that difference.

if it's a factory unit, & someone has been working on the car at some point for something like adding a new alarm, or working on some controls either in the center console or the dash, they may have inadvertently disconnected the factory stereos ground wire.

also, in both cases above, even if the stereo's ground is completely removed, the stereo will still work as long as the antenna is plugged into the stereo (because it will ground thru the antennas ground shield. again, this causes a difference in ground potential, and will cause an unbelieveable amount of noise.

Ring protection is a system where multiplexers are connected in a ring topology. If a single span fails traffic switches around the other side of the ring.

It is labeled ACC (accessory) and is located under the driver side dash. to the left of the fuel/hood release. 15 amp BLUE fuse, bottom left if i remember correctly!

We thought of two reasons why this may occur. The first is

that the radio may be getting old. We forgot the second one.

There are 2 sensors on the upstream manifold before catalytic converter, left and right (make sure you get the one you need, left and right are different), the other two are located underneath your truck after the converter, but is usually the upstream sensors that needs to be replaced the most, like when you get an OBD code "bank1 or bank2"

the cig lighter and the radio run off the same fuse. if you find the cig lighter fuse..... you find the radio fuse. i had the same problem ;)

Buy an Ipod off ebay.

Most are fused I think it is in the back in behind left or right rear panel there should be a fuse in one end of amp.
