What is revertive pulse dialing?
Revertive pulse dialing is a system first introduced in Panel Switch Exchanges and used only between exchanges in which the called exchange sent back (revertive) dial pulses for each digit to the sending exchange until the sending exchange signaled that the correct number of pulses had been sent for that digit.
This is in contrast to standard pulse dialing in which a phone sent dial pulses to the local exchange for each digit or the sending exchange sent dial pulses to the called exchange for each digit.
Revertive pulse dialing was considered a more reliable means of transferring numbers between exchanges than standard pulse dialing as certain types of errors in the transfer could be detected that was not possible to detect with standard pulse dialling.
A telephone cannot use revertive pulse dialing! It can only be used between exchanges.

Does a ATT Sim card work if it was in a phone that got soaked by water?
With any peice of electroincs, it depends on how long it was underwater. Usually not though. Put it in a different phone and try it. More than one of my friends have put their ATT phones through the washer machine. It didn't turn out well. Anywho, your best bet is in fact, no. Probably not.
Why answer seizure ratio is low in mobile networks?
Hi Guyz,
Who told ASR is low in Mobile Networks..?? In our Network We are maintaining more than 45% with all the major TELECOM Operators. But with some new operators analysing the same to inprove but the same is not able to, bcoz subcribers belongs to new operators having old one(Mean old operator) also. AFter their free TT r some offer got expired, they simply swithched of the mobile r threw it off. What happens while calling these subscribers means, their switch releases the call with cause code 31(Normal Unspecified) So Pls avoid analysing the performance of ASR with new operators. And for NLD/ILD carrier they also doing all those things like LCR,ASR analysis. If we route the codes which are accepted by them, we can see major difference in ASR with NLD/ILD also.
Regards,
Vijay.S

Do a telephone have interchangeable parts?
Yes - most modern telephones have a small plug at both ends of the end of the coiled wire - this enables the cord or the handset to be replaced easily if they're damaged. Additionally, the keypad is usually formed from individual buttons - each of which can be changed if needed (but you'd need to open the telephone to do that !)

What can be the reasons of a Call drop?
1. If the network is congested and u are low priority user then ur call might be dropped.2. The signal level for an ideal call isTransmit +43db
Receive -60 ~ -80db
Some times while receiving call, suppose due to pathloss or shadowing, if ur receiving signal level is -95db, then ur call will be dropeed.
During the site survey, Site selection is very much important to avoid the effect of path loss and shadowing.
3. Sometimes there are pockets due to inappropiate radio network planning, in those pockets ur call might be dropped.
Appropiate Radio Planning and the adjustment of Antenna's Down Tilt is very much important to resolve this problem.4. During hanover, if the interferrence from the neighbouring BTS is too high the call might be droped.
Appropiate Radio Planning and the adjustment of Antenna's Down Tilt is very much important to resolve this problem5. Somtimes SACCH, FACCH signalling channels are not available to provide u a TCH channel. In that case call might be dropped. Repeated SACCH, FACCH can solve this problem.6. Some times it might happen that you are too far from the center of BTS, that is you are at the cell boundary. At that u might face problem to make a call as the transmitted signal from ur MS will not reach BTS.
High gain antenna's can solve this problem. there are other different techniques to resolve this problem. But all these solutions varies from vendor to vendor
Who is the innovator of the telephone?
In 1831, Englishman Michael Faraday (1791-1867) proved that vibrations of metal could be converted to electrical impulses. This was the technological basis of the telephone, but no one actually used this system to transmit sound until 1861. In that year, Johann Philip Reis (1834-1874) in Germany is said to have built a simple apparatus that changed sound to electricity and back again to sound. A crude device, it was incapable of transmitting most frequencies, and it was never fully developed. A practical telephone was actually invented independently by two men working in the United States, Elisha Gray and Scottish-born Alexander Graham Bell. Incredibly, both men filed for a patent on their designs at the New York patent office on February 14, 1876, with Bell beating Gray by only two hours! Although Gray had built the first steel diaphragm / electromagnet receiver in 1874, he wasn't able to master the design of a workable transmitter until after Bell had. Bell had worked tirelessly, experimenting with various types of mechanisms, while Gray had become discouraged. According to the famous story, the first fully intelligible telephone call occurred on March 6, 1876, when Bell, in one room, called to his assistant in another room. "Come here, Watson, I want you."

How many people use American Morse code today?
As far as I know, American Morse is not used commercially anywhere any more. The equipment may be found in various tourist places like steam railroads or Civil War displays. This code is enjoying somewhat of a resurgence among communications enthusiasts lately however. There is software available on line which even duplicates the original sounds on their PCs.
