The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank. Remove the bolts from the fuel tank straps towards the rear of the car only. This will let you pull the tank down on one side and not all the way out (much better than the whole thing). You should be able to remove the pump assembly out of the top of the tank from there.

the distributor cap is on a funny angle and builds up moisture. parking on a hill makes this worse. i find if you dont let it heat up or let it run fully warm for 10 min before shuting it down the car will be fully reliable.
