How is addictive behavior in parents affect their children?
For specifics, one would have to know the behaviors in more detail. Since, however, all addictions and addictive behaviors are ultimately about the addict (selfish), it is highly unlikely that many of them would benefit children, even though a preoccupation with the children might be part of the addiction.
Can people be addicted to talking?
Probably not in the sense of an addiction that involves inducing major changes in brain chemistry, although that certainly could not be ruled out.
There are many people, however, who talk compulsively. This may be due to subconscious feelings that they will go unnoticed, that they must work to keep people's attention, or they may simply be self-centered and rather rude. Family background can also be a factor, if they come from an environment where everyone interrupted and talked over each other. That can lead to feelings that you have to keep talking -- keep the stage -- because it's hard to get it back. (The writer comes from a family like that.)
Many people use compulsive speech to cover their true feelings, believing that if they pound a false impression hard enough that the listener will not discern the truth of a matter. This is common among people who are unskilled liars.
Finally, there are a number of emotional disorders that involve compulsive speech.
What if you are obsessed with demons should you tell?
If the obsession is causing you enough unhappiness that you are asking the question, you would probably be happier if you shared the burden with someone you can trust. I would suggest a clergyman, counselor, or trusted teacher rather then simply a friend. They are better-equipped to support you without feeding into your concerns or, on the other hand, dissing them.
Any obsession is a terrific burden for the person who has it, and it deserves serious consideration. It is well to seek that where it is most likely to be found.
The relationship between alcohol and ego?
Alcohol lowers inhibitions, and in doing so is likely to bring out all sorts of traits that were formerly repressed. A quiet girl becomes the life of the party; a self-effacing man becomes a braggart.
These sorts of things are often the reverse of what they seem. The bragger may be covering up a feeling of low self-worth, the party gal her feelings of insecurity and not fitting in. When people drink chronically, they are liable to become their own legends, in their own minds, leading to the grandiosity and ego that we associate with some of our acquaintances who drink a lot.
Tramadol is a synthetic opioid. It is not considered a controlled substance, but has the potential to become habit forming.
What is the name given to a person needing more and more of a drug to feel its effects?
The term for needing increasing amounts of a drug to achieve the same effect is tolerance. Tolerance occurs when the body adapts to the drug and requires higher doses to produce the desired effects.
How do you start conversation with husband about him quitting drinking?
Any discussion might begin with the approach that drinking too much is not being a "bad person" - approach as if the person is sick and needs help.
Most drinkers always have denial of their problem, and the goal is to get them to recognize themselves as having a problem. For some, this comes easily, and others will pursue drinking into the gates of hell or death before they admit that they have a problem. Good luck.

Can you get addicted to cutting?
yes, it can be addictive. Take it from an actual cutting addict. Being addicted to cutting yourself can be just as much as an addiction to smoking and drugs. Drugs release chemicals which make the body feel "good" when you cut, the body will release these endorphins which soothe the body and give you a feeling of euphoria and people become addicted to the feeling.
Will marijurina make you moody?
Individuals react to drugs in somewhat different ways, because no two people have exactly the same brain chemistry. Some people become depressed and moody when they use cannabis or other THC-based drugs.
A more interesting question is, what is it about turning your brain off that you find attractive?
I have two white pills one with the numbers K56 and 44 352?
The pill with the imprint K56 is Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride 10 mg, a muscle relaxant used to treat muscle spasms. The pill imprinted with 44 352 is Aspirin 325 mg, a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory medication.
Does Suboxone get opioid addicts high?
Unlike Methadone, Suboxone (buphrenorphine) calms the craving for opiates without getting the individual high. That makes it extremely effective in substitution therapy for getting individuals off drugs without the accompanying physical discomfort of withdrawal -- which is horrible -- while minimizing the liklihood of abuse.
It should not be used long-term, however. Recent research has shown it to be very effective when combined with psychotherapy and other supports over periods of about three months, after which it is discontinued.
We must remember that Suboxone does not remove the addiction. It merely makes it possible to live with while remaining relatively uninmpaired. Eventually it must be tapered off and discontinued if full recovery is to be achieved.
What will happen if you mix Prozac medicine with whiskey and hydroxycut?
Mixing Prozac with alcohol like whiskey can increase drowsiness and dizziness. Combining Prozac with Hydroxycut, a weight loss supplement containing stimulants, can lead to an increased risk of side effects like jitteriness, elevated heart rate, and high blood pressure. It's important to avoid mixing these substances and consult with a healthcare provider for proper guidance.
You would not be asking if you did not already know the answer.
well my back muscles hurt lately from work sitten in a hard chair the wrong way. i don't feel the urge to take them that's why im asking fool!..my back just hurts so just wondering
Answer 2:
If you are taking four to five a day, you are addicted. Period. It is not possible that you are not. You may have your reasons for doing so, or it may just be denial. But you're addicted.
Try not taking any for about 24 hours. But make sure someone is there with you. You may need their help going through withdrawal.
And before you call people "fool," consider why you are resisting the idea so hard. Remember, you did ask the question. That person was right on -- and I'm no fool, I'm an addiction professional.
Well Mr. Addiction Professional, get real, 4 or 5 a day is not going to be a withdraw like you described. If anything you may be a little tired and possibly have a runny nose or something but come on we are not talking heroin here. You obviously are one of those book educated drug and alcohol counselors
ANSWER # 3
Dear ADDICT! Yup, Mr. Addiction is is RIGHT! You can have major withdrawls from small but regular use. Do more research on the subject on this very site. I do not, however agree that if you take 4 or 5 a day you are aoutomatically an addict. This is a common number, up to "take 1-2 tablets every 6 hours as needed for pain" this is the common prescription for up to a week. If you wake up in the middle of the night craving anything you habitually use during the day, you are an addict. If you ask yourself the question, "Am I an addict?" The answer is YES! you are. If you ask another person, or better yet an entire community, WikiAnswer, for instance "Could I be an addict?' The answer is YES, YOU ARE AN ADDICT!!!! Why on earht would you ask this question if you actually did not want an answer, and respond to someones answer with absolute rudeness? Get over yourself and get to a meeting!
A.The person asked if they could be addicted. There is a difference between being addicted and being an addict in the sense implied above. Many people have become addicted to drugs on doses less than the "regular" dosage, including myself. My original advice still holds. For the information of the "get real" guy, I probably drank and drugged for about as long as you've been alive. The book learning came later, along with years working in detox clinics and first-line rehabs. There's an old saying about not trying to teach your grandmother to suck eggs.
What is a good career path for a felon?
Answer:
You didn't mention the nature of your conviction. Since it's on this page, I'll assume it was something to do with drugs.
How about something in the treatment field? There's usually openings for mental health techs and similar positions to start, and as you move along there are other opportunities. You will also make contacts and acquaintances who may be able to help you move onward according to your abilities. Some judges are pretty impressed by a few clean and sober years helping others.
Answer:
Many criminals of all stripes, from tax fraud to burglary, have made honest careers from telling folks how to avoid problems with people in their old field. Consultants in security , with a back ground in B&E can walk through a plant or home pointing out how they would have gotten in, what they would have taken, and what they would have been scared away by. Having a line of security goods (alarms, bars and locks) is a good side line, as is giving talks to Criminology classes at colleges.
Poor posture or a badly designed chair can cause?

What does methadone do to your body?
Methadone is a synthetic opioid. Its primary use is in drug addiction rehab, for detox and maintenance. It is also used to treat pain, most often chronic pain.
Methadone affects the body in ways similar to morphine. It attaches to opioid receptors in the brain, spinal column and peripheral tissues and organs to attenuate pain, and provide relief of anxiety, and also has sedative properties. For some it can cause nausea and/or vomiting, sweating, drowsiness - all the same side effects of morphine.
Methadone is reported to have certain effects on the heart, primarily to do with heart rate, arrythmia, or prolonging the QT interval. These effects are more common when too high a dose is prescribed or when moving to a significantly higher dose. For those taking 80mg daily or less, this is rarely a concern.
I found the worst effects were excessive sweating and difficulty staying awake while reading or watching tv, doing anything not very stimulating.
Finally, it can be very hard to stop methadone. It gets stored in the body's tissues, and the time it takes to detox from methadone can be very prolonged, and for some has been worse than heroin. The withdrawal symptoms are less severe than heroin, but the duration is prolonged. Clinical detox is indicated.
Why should you not drink alcohol?
we all shouldn't drink alcohol
we should not drink alcohol because of these four symptoms:
How many addictions are there?
Addiction is about mood-altering: changing the way we feel -- ultimately by changing our brain chemistry. We can do this by drugs, alcohol, physical activities, and just about any other behavior that is capable of taking us away from ourselves for a period of time. There are as many different potential addictions as there are things that will mood alter.
More useful is this catch-all description of addictive behavior: something that you keep on doing even though it is causing life-changing consequences. This applies equally well to all addictive issues.
What ingredient makes cigerette tabbaco so addicting?
The ingredient nicotine, which goes to the brain and makes the brain demand more of the nicotine, causing the addiction.
Pornology is not a common or widely recognized term. It may refer to the study or analysis of pornography as a field of academic or cultural inquiry. It could also potentially refer to a specific area of research within the field of sexology.
The activity of gambling can be highly addictive. The nature of gambling with its risk and excitement taps into the reward circuits of the brain. It feels really great to do the intense and exciting things connected with gambling. The good feeling is enhanced by our very own chemicals that the reward circuits guide.
Our Brains are very complex and every part has its function. The reward circuit is designed to reinforce activities that keep us and our species alive, such as eating, drinking, procreating, and nurturing our young. However, certain substances and activities can fool the brain in believing that the activity is just as important as the life/species survival activities. The brain then believes that it must have the substance or activity to survive and an addiction is born. This is the science behind the reason that addiction is called a brain disease.
Once the brain believes that it needs, in this case, gambling; a person is driven to continue the activity in order to satisfy the craving. Unfortunately (with addiction), our brains are very resilient. The brain adapts quite easily to exciting activities and a person begins to need more the activity to feel the same good feeling. So a person that started off with buying one or two scratch off cards every week or so can build up to point that they're betting on horses, using a bookie to bet on sporting events, and playing slots at the local casino.
Does everyone that gambles develop an addiction? Absolutely not. There is a certain segment of the population that is more vulnerable, or that has a higher predisposition to developing an addictive disease. The difficulty lies in not knowing who is vulnerable and who is not. No one, truly, no one sets out to become an addict. Certain people are hard wired to develop the disease. Knowing the risk factors can help protect those people. But, risk factors are for another question, another time.
Answer2: Gambling by its very nature encourages a blind trust in the so called Lady Luck and it is in fact fueled by greed. Gambling promotes the desire for easy money and in short a gambler seeks to get something for nothing. Is gambling habit-forming, easily leading to addiction? Following a study of gamblers' responses to winning and losing, Dr. Hans Breiter noted that "a monetary in a gambling-like experiment produces brain activation very similar to that observed in a cocaine addict receiving an infusion of cocaine. Many pathological gamblers would like to have their addiction considered to be "as real a public health problem as tobacco, alcohol, and drug abuse are," says French daily Le Figaro. Millions lured into gambling have found themselves ensnared by a vicious gambling addiction. The problem is widespread, with millions of gambling addicts in the United States alone, according to estimates. Many compulsive gamblers begin by making petty bets just for fun. A long term study published in the United States by the Arizona Council on Compulsive Gambling confirms that many gambling addicts begin at an early age by placing small bets on sporting events or playing cards with friends or relatives. How difficult is it to get off 3 x 80mg Oxycontin taken for 2 years?
very very difficult, one would need to go to a rehab, stopping cold turkey would harm and possibly kill the person due to withdraws from such a powerful drug
*Edit from Tjeyw721: "Simply" (and I use that term loosely) withdrawing from opiates is not fatal, although you will feel like you want to kill yourself. Withdrawing cold turkey is very, VERY difficult. If you were being prescribed Oxycontin, talk to your doctor about tapering you slowly off the drug. If that isn't possible, you will want to get some sort of help (I personally recommend Suboxone, but Methadone works too, and you will need to be tapered off of these as well) to help get through the worst of your withdrawal. After that, it's a long battle, but worth it if you can make it! I havent yet, but I'm hoping one day I do. Good luck and take care!
It may be considered binge drinking if you consume a large amount of alcohol in a short period on those 2-3 days. If you find it difficult to limit your drinking on those days, it may also indicate problematic drinking behavior. It's important to monitor your alcohol consumption and seek help if you feel it's becoming a concern.
