How hot should the temperature be to bake shrink art?
I have a Rose Art Shrink Art kit - how hot should the oven be to bake it and for how long?
---------------------------------------
here are the instructions---
1. Place a sheet of Shrinky Dinks over a dsign with the rough side up. Trace the design including the thin cut line around the edge. When tracing letters, draw your own cut line approx. 1/4 inch away from the letters.
2. Color and decorate your artwork with the colored pencils. Be sure to stay only on the rough side of the Shrinky Dinks.
3. Ask and adult to help with this step. Cut out your colored design from the Shrinky Dinks sheet following the traced cut line. Be sure the edges are smooth. Do not leave any sharp corners or they will become very pointy when you skrink the art. Use a hole punch if you want to make a keychain.
4. ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED FOR BAKING. Pre-heat your kitchen oven or toaster oven to 325F. DO NOT MICROWAVE. Place your creation onto a non-stick cookie sheet with the colored side up. Place in oven and WATCH the baking process. It takes 1-5 minutes depending on the thickness of the cookie sheet. Piece will curl and then flatten out. Bake another 30 seconds then remove from heat. What else can i use to bake chicken if i don't have foil or parchment paper?
Assuming you have some sort of pan to put it in, use another one of some sort as a lid. Most any kitchen has two pot or pans that will fit together and seal more or less. The only issue would be to make sure the lid fit inside of the pan so that any steam or grease stayed inside the bottom pan. Be creative. Generally if it can go in the oven, it will work.
