Keeping score of what you expect is a logical way to track what happens in a relationship. It really does not reflect the heart and the feelings you have for him. Look to see what feelings he is actually returning rather than the expectations he is fulfilling.

There is not much you can do at this point. He has obviously moved on and I realize it may hurt because it is with your best friend but you should be happy for them and thankful she was good enough to tell you herself - that means she does care for you and care about how this would make you feel. Move forward and move on with your head held high and wish them well. Take time for yourself and before you know it - who knows who you will meet around the next corner when you least expect it.

this could mean that he/she still thinks about their ex. or worse, he still has contact with him/her. if you really are getting serious with this person you should confront them about it.

It's hard to answer this without more information. How long ago did you breakup? Have you tried to talk to him and did he tell you that he wanted to be left alone?

Assuming you broke up with him recently, and if the break up was bad, i.e. he was heartbroken, maybe it was over another guy...etc. I think all you really need to do is call him and ask him to meet up with you to chat--if you have similar friends go to a party where you know he will be--this is really cheap, but if your stuck-- tell him you want those dvds you left at his place--basically do whatever you can to meet with him face to face. If he initially blows you off--don't be surprised, he's probably hurt. Maybe try one more time but then back off--you don't want to push it.

If you are lucky to get him to meet up with you. Just tell him you are sorry. Tell him you were scared of where the relationship was going--or whatever the issue was. Tell him that you would like to date him again--but that if he needs sometimes to think about it--you'll understand. Depending on what happened between you guys--he may need sometime.

Finally, one word of advice: do your homework. Try to find out if he has a new girlfriend first. Your confession coud be quite awkward if he is already with someone new. It's just not something you want to be surprised with without being able to get yourself together first.

If you already feel that he is not the one and unhappy the best thing for you to do is be honest, polite and upfront and make a clean cut - move on. There is no since wasting anymore of one anothers time being unhappy - it is time to move on in your separate directions.

If you and your ex parted on good terms, why not talk with him or her. There's nothing wrong with talking.

After a relationship breaks up, you go through a grieving process so it is important to recognize that is what is happening. Allow it to happen, because you have suffered a loss, and also had a blow to your self-esteem. Take it easy on yourself. Try talking to someone who you can trust and who can keep a confidence - even better if they've been through the same situation. Maybe there is a counselor who can help. Writing your feelings down can help some people too. It doesn't help if you keep trying to contact or be around the girl in question, even if you want to be. If reconciliation is going to be an option, then it won't do your chances any good.

Do you have some sort of interest that you have not pursued during the relationship? Maybe join some sort of group or club where you can establish friendships on a general level that are not connected with this girl. It is important to not feel alone, and to realize that it is a stage you are passing through and it WILL pass.

I realize you may be attached emotionally but wouldn't you prefer to have someone in real life to actually hold ,hug, and hear their voice?

I realize you may be sad but you have to pick yourself up and move forward. I think you have become so detached from reality by dating online and not realizing that such relationships are very hard to sustain. Take a break from the computer and get out in the world and try conversing with people, friends, family and meeting new real people - get involved in physical things that interest you and who knows you may end up meeting someone. You have to allow yourself the opportunities or you will never know. You can do it & Good Luck.

Why not? Unless there are outstanding issues or disputes that can't be easily resolved, there is no reason why you shouldn't still talk. A good relationship is based on several things, one of which is friendship. There's no reason you can't still be friends if the other things have possibly disappeared over time.

Although I do believe the above answer is true - you do have to ask yourself why you feel you need to still talk to your "ex". If you tend to live in the past so to speak how do you expect to move on into a healthy relationship. Unfortunately there are not many spouses that will be happy with you conversing with your ex even on a "hear and there" bases and if you intend to hide something of that nature you definitely are not ready to move on. You should take some time for yourself without your ex and to give yourself a break to find what you really feel and think. Your "ex" is your ex for a reason and that is something to consider.

Well 1st of all if love the person you shouldn't be cheating on them. and it all depends on what you did. Its really up to the person If they want to forgive you or not. Since a relationship is all about trust you can start by tring to regain that trust. Apologize in a face to face conversation not email or phone etc. tell the person your reason for cheating .... to give you a 2nd chance and you MIGHT get it and start by trying to regain trust like i said.

No, if you are a legal citizen of the U.S. or Canada or any other country then you can continue to live in that country after your divorce.

Consider whether or not the advantages of resuming or continuing a relationship with this person are advantageous to your emotional and psychological health. Seems to me if your struggling with 'getting over' this person,than he/she has decided to not be involved in your life. Does that make sense? Have Faith!

I been dating this guy for a year and it has nowhere, no realtionship and when I asked him previosly he said he just wasn't ready and he just got out of a 3 year relationship.
