How can you open the hood with a broken cable located on a 1990 Buick LeSabre?
I just dealt with that problem. My hood would not open no matter how hard I lifted the hood release lever. If the cable is truly broken, there is no nice answer to that, otherwise: Near my hood release there was two screws holding a piece of molding around the hood relase. If you remove this you can see the whole assembly. The release is just one long wire, and can just like mine, gets streched out. If it over streches it doesnt trip the hood release at all. If you would look at the center of the lever, you will see that a thin wire attaches to it. If not, look inside any loose black cable near by. If you have a small needle nose vise grip pliers, you'll need it here. A regular one will work, but it cuts down on the room available to work. Vise grip the thin wire behind the lever. If you first lift the hood release lever, then slowly pull the wire straight out. This should pop the hood, if your wire is simply streched out. If you pull and the wire comes out...you need "other" help. There are kits you can by to adust the tention on the wire...but you decide.
Why won't a 2000 Buick lesabre start after changing the battery?
It depends on if it won't "crank" or wont't "start" if it worn't crank make sure your battery terminals are clean and tight if it still won't crank check the wiring if it looks ok suspect the starter.
if it won't start it could be a fuel pump fouled spark plugs faulty ignition module faulty crank sensor or out of time. hope this helps.
our 99 buick lesabre had the same problem. WE had to change the bcm and the ign. switch plus have 2 neew keys made. But if yours will turn over it could be in the distributor check for fire at plugs.
Is there a fuse for the check engine light?
There may be a fuse. Drop by an auto parts store and ask them to reset it for you.
How do you repair automatic window on 1998 Buick LeSabre that is partially down and won't move?
This worked for me on my grand prix. My mechanic told me to get someone to hold the button either up or down while you hit the door where you think the motor is. It took me about 12 hits before my window would roll up. It saved the interior of my car until i could get a new window motor.
1999 Buick LaSabre ac vents dont work only on defrost?
Well that usally means you have a rat or mouse nest in your heater vent box. Pretty common if you live near open fields. Take the vent box apart to view any blockage from the heater core to the vent box or a hanger gently down the vent opening see if you pull grass or straw out.
It's probably the motor but needs to be checked out. I am certainly not an expert on these things but... I own a 2000 Lasabre that has been a good car but....the windows go bad. Both back windows stopped working and fell down. Luckily I had a neighbor who was good at fixing such things so we removed the door panel off and found that the cable the moved the window up and down was tracking poorly fraying it to the point it was off the track and broken. Rather than buy parts, and since it was the rear windows which came down only part way we reround the cable, put it back in, put the window in the up position and disconnected the motor. All has been fine since. Yesterday the passenger side front window dropped and won't come up...so today I am trying to get the door panel off and see if the cable on this window has also gone bad. Getting the panel off has been a challange. My take on the Lasabre windows....they are crap....the car has been great but it's automatic windows leave something to be desired. This problem is caused by a broken "up" cable on the window regulator. This regulator operates the window using a cable to pull the window up and a different cable to pull the window down. It is usually the "up" cable that breaks. This problem is REALLY bad in 2000 lesabre cars. The designer of the window regulator has the "up" cable attached to nothing more than a plastic piece. This piece will break sometimes with little or no good reason. (ie bump in the road, raising the window, etc.) Buick will not claim any responsibility for these regulators unless REALLY pressed but the fact is that they had/have a bunch of these go bad. R.Hand
Where is the fuse box for a 1990 LeSabre?
The fuse "Box" is more like a fuse "Panel". It's behind the light switch panel. Open the drivers door (obviously) and at the left end of the light switch panel you'll see two little black (mine are black) screw thingies (I love this tech talk). They can be twisted with the tip of your finger...in most cases. After they pop out, remove the panel and there you are. HeyMichaelS@Yahoo.com
Why would a 1990 buick lesabre 3800 hiccup or jerk after it reaches 55 mph?
May be fuel filter or air filter
Replace plugs and wires at the same time. An engine miss is more noticeable when the car is in fourth gear and converter is locked up, which is after 45mph. Carbon tracking on the plugs and wires can cause this.
It is very common for the torque converter clutch to begin slipping in these cars at 60-90k miles. It acts exactly like an engine miss. It happened to my 92 Bonneville, and after looking at all ignition items, a new torque converter fixed it. It did show a code when read at the Pontiac dealer. Also a 92 Bonneville has different transmission 4T60-E, it is enhanced with electronic controls and is controlled by the computer. The 90 has a 4T60 the transitional model from the old Hydramatic (formerly called the 440-T4 aka 4T60}. Parts are not the same in these transmissions. My 90 4T60 has over 298,000 miles on it.
Why would a 1993 Buick Lasabre go dead when turning sharp curve or stopping quickly?
This use to happen on our GMC Suburban. Turned out it was the battery connection. Make sure battery connections are tight and that the battery is clamped down so that it does not move around.
How do you repair brake lights on a Peugeot 106?
Unfortunately, there is no simple instruction for "how to fix..." Repairing anything requires a little investigation to figure out what's wrong and a little effort to replace whatever isn't working right. Usually there isn't a fuse that only operates a singingle circuit, but I guess it's possible with European engineers. Most fuses protect several devices so if nothing else has failed I wouldn't necessarily suspect fuses, but then again it's a foreign car built by foreign engineers. I've never been able to figure them out. For brake lights on a foreign car I would still check the fuses first. If all fuses are ok I'd check the brake light switch. I don't know where it is on a peugeot so you'll have to search for it. Often it is connected to the brake pedal ( It is just behind the brake pedal, fiddly to change but simple!) and the switch turns on as soon as you touch the pedal. If that switch has failed or is adjusted poorly you won't get brake lights. If it isn't the brake light switch, I'd check the turn signal switch. On most cars the brake lights are also used as the rear turn signal lights and the turn signal switch has contacts that disengage the approprate stoplight when your turn signal is working. If the turn signal switch has failed the brake lights might not work. Next I'd check the sockets and electrical connections to the brake lights.
How do you remove the rear brakes on a 2003 Buick LeSabre?
If it's disk brakes, it's about like the front, except that it takes a lot of torque to get the caliper piston to go back in. It really is hard to get back in, once you do then your set. Use a large 8" or greater C-Clamp to compress the piston. Here is how: 1) Remove the back bolts holding the caliper assembly, loosen the top one first, but do not remove it yet. The bottom bolt does not come out--that's why it has a torx head; it's only removed for rotor replacement. 2) Remove the pads. 3) Loosen the bleeder screw so you don't send dirty fluid back through the ABS unit. 4) Use a spanner wrench to turn the piston back in to the bore. The piston can only be moved about 1 mm without damaging the emergency brake mechanism. The rotor screws in. Do not force the piston in using a C-clamp, etc. 5) After seating the piston put on the new pads. 5) When finished bleed each side until clean clear fluid comes out. 6) If possible bleed the front calipers too. Bleeding out older fluid helps length life of the calipers.
It is important to know the cost of replace the parts of a car while owning it. The average cost to replace brake pads and rotors to a 1992 Buick LeSabre as a kit would be about $300.
you can, but you need to be fairly good at soldering as they are soldered on the board. Find the correct size bulbs will be a challenge also. Buick had a better idea. No wonder thy went broke

Have car 4 years want to refinance remaining part off loan?
Are you familiar with Dave Ramsey (www.daveramsey.com)? I believe he would suggest selling one or two of the cars and using the income from the sale to pay off the other two. I'm assuming you need two cars, one for you and one for your spouse, if married. The other thing that needs consideration is why you need four cars? Are any of them used for a business? If they are, then the business income ought to be used to pay off that loan, not your personal income.
If one or two of them are used for a business, then you need to separate your family income and expenses from your business income and expenses. Actually as a former business owner, the IRS insists that you do this, and that you file separately for each.

How do you reset the change oil soon light on 1993 Buick Lesabre?
I believe by turning the key to the start position, stepping on the accelerator pedal 3 times with in 5 seconds. Post your results.
Hello, To reset your "change oil" lite you have to: 1. Locate a small hole below the glove box. 2. Turn the key on, do not start. 3. Stick a ball point pen or small stick in the hole for about 5 sec. 4. The change oil lite will than blink a few times then go out. 5. If you don't feel any resistance in the small hole, the little reset box has come loose and you will have to drop the panel to resecure it! Good luck!
the reset switch on a 1994 buick is in the glove compartment.
