You first have to remove the lower REAR seat cushion and seat back. Push IN lower seat cushion TOWARDS REAR of car and lift upward to remove. Located near lower center of back seat panel will be the converible top mop motor and resovoir( hydraulic fluid is used - trans fluid ). Black rubber plug is removed to fill resovoir. Necessary to fill, bleed ( operate top ), and refill. Might need to do it a couple of times till it stops whinning.

Where is the anti-theft module for the Pass-Key II system located on a 1993 Cadillac DeVille?
On the 1990-1993 FRONT WHEEL DRIVE models it is actually located under the passenger side of dash. It is VERY WELL HIDDEN directly on the back side of the long vertical relay panel. In between the rows of identical square relays there will be 2 T-15 star (TORX) screws. Once they are removed the relay panel (also containing a few low amp fuses) can be swung out of the way. There will be two more screws (comb 7mm or t-15) that hold the retainer for the relay panel. They screw into the passenger side dash end. Once its loose you can unplug the PassKey module. The Deville did not start putting modules like this in the trunk until the 94-99 body style.

How do you replace the water pump on a 1988 Cadillac DeVille fwd 4.5L V8?
You will have to remove the serpentine belt and hold the water pump pulley still while loosening the pulley bolts. There are 10 or more 10mm bolts holding the water pump on. Once you have removed the pump you can remove the pulley also. It is a very strange looking pump. When you are reinstalling the new pump use 'red' RTV to make sure you get the best seal as it is the high temperature RTV. After applying a 1/8inch bead around each bolt hole simply connect the dots with another 1/8inch bead around the edge of the pump. I highly recommend allowing the RTV to cure for around 20 to 30 minutes before reinstalling the new pump. Make sure that you do not over tighten the 10mm bolts. If one breaks off you will have to pull the engine to get the broken portion out of the engine block. Simply snug down the bolts until you see the RTV start squish out around the pump slightly. With RTV you do not have to tighten nearly as tight as with a gasket. Also make sure that all the old RTV or gasket is thouroughly removed before reinstallation. After you fill the cooling system and before you start the engine check for any leaks. If you see some seeping simply tighten the bolts a little more. If the seep stops then start the engine and check for leaks while the engine is idling and still cold. You may have to tighten a bit more if you still have seeping. If not allow the enging to run until it reaches normal operating temperature. Allow it to run for a short while after it is warmed up. I personally recommend that you replace the thermostat at the same time. Most of the GM engines in this size range throung the 80s are either aluminum or have aluminum heads which are prone to get warped if the engine overheats. This is true of all vehicles with aluminum heads. Domestic or foreign.

I just replaced my water pump on my 99 Cadillac Deville. You have to take off your air filter and some more stuff to get to the water pump which is on the front drivers side. You then take of the whole compartment (replace the whole thing if it is leaking coolant, you can tell this because there will be green fluid left on the front passenger side of the engine if you are parked somewhere for a while). I bought a pump for about 60 bucks from Auto Zone and rented a special tool you need to put it on. The tool allows you to torque the pump into place without gripping the inside of the water pump (with out it you would just spin the fan blades and not the whole part). There are 4 tabs on the outside of the pump which must allign to the parts on the holder. You only torque the pump about 1 inch max to be held into place. The difficult part is getting the pump ligned up then putting the tool on while it is still in place and applying alot of force while not truning too much and bending the parts that hold it in place.
