Hey Oscar- this happened to me too, I replaced the oil sending unit on the bottom of the engine just behind the passenger front wheel but behind the engine. This will fix it.

no it's not hard to get it out when you remove the glove box and the plastic from under the dash.then unhook the metel rod try not to break the hook it sit's on.then you'll see to the left a big black plastic box with 4 screws in it.drop the box and you'll see the core.nine times out of ten the core is cracked so just pull it out and it will break off in the water hoses everything else comes easy....

this is a bitc to get to but me & my wifes uncle knocked it out in bout 2 & half hours if your facing your grill of your caddy it on the very bottom front left of the car u will have to get under it to see it there is a small plate like 10 inches long *& three inches wide that u will have to unbolt to remove it because you can not remove it from the bottom there is no way to remove it from the top the only other way is to remove the radiator but i wouldn't do that.all of this only applies if you have a northstar... if you have a 4.9 its on top left along with your belts & crank pulleys good luck..also if it is your alternator going bad your alert system should be reading battery no charge

Had the same problem with a Pontiac, there is a sensor that connects to the high side line that controls the cut in and cut out pressure, price in Canada was around $55 for mine. You can put this on yourself in about 30 seconds. Screw the new one on and plug it in. its the size of a lipstick tube.

Chances are your transmission selector switch is out of adjustment and activating your automatic door lock module. See if the car will allow you to start it in Neutral. This only applies of course if it happens while the key is ON. If the problem is a defective trans switch by now its so severe that it should of activated a service soon light. (code 91)
Myself or someone else needs to know exactly when this happens to be of more help. No matter what, you can make it stop by first only unhooking the automatic feature of the electric door locks. It is a square black box that gets thicker on one end, clipped to the passenger side dash area just to the left of the relay panel. You have to lower the insulator panel, or go in through the glove box unit after you remove it. The 5 or so wires will be light duty thinner gauge ones. You will see pink, light blue, light green, white........ The end of this opens up and a small circuit board will unplug out of the plastic box using a small screw driver. This way you can still use your lock switches or remote (if equipped) but the car cant lock doors when you shift from park anymore.
If you do this and the problem still occurs, its just a door lock switch, or a more serious problem. This all applies to a factory lock system. If your cursed with an aftermarket car starter remote system, then GOOD LUCK, HA! I hate the way some installers in these shops wire these to lock car on its own. :)
