Why does your heart hurt when you goto bend over. Im a 17 year old male and for the past couple of months i have been getting a pain in my heart area when i go to tie my shoes and sit down. Help pleas?

If the pain is sharp, gets worse when you take a deep breath, and only happens rarely then it is prob caused by your heart sticking to the side of your lungs. If this is the cause there should be very little consistency in how long the pain lasts; it could be a minute could be an hour. There can be a sensation of tightness over your heart or slightly to the right of it. Also it can just happen by its self but will most likely occur when you put your body in a position where your heart is near your lungs like bending over at an angle or sitting down because it shifts your organs around. It use to happen to me a lot and is absolutely terrifying, but it's nothing you should worry about. It can't damage anything or do any real harm. I asked a cardiologist about it when I use to get em. Bad news is there's nothing you can do about it besides wait it out. The good news is you will out grow them once you stop growing (I cant remember one since I was 19). Next time it happens take as deep of a breath as you can it should feel like a knife is being jammed into your chest.

Describe the stages of erythropoiesis?

ERYTHROPOIESIS

Definition: It is the process of formation of red blood corpuscles or erythrocytes in the human body

Site of formation:

Foetus: (early stages) Mesodermal cells of yolk sac

Adult: Mainly in bone marrow

Stages: The different stages of erythropoiesis are as follows:

a) Production of RBC at developmental stage:

I) Mesoblast Stage: From 3rd week of intrauterine life, RBC is produced by mesodermal cells of the yolk sac

II) Hepatic Stage: From 5th month of intrauterine life, Rbc production is taken over by liver and spleen. This stage lasts upto last trimester.

III) Myeloid Stage: After birth, red bone marrow of all bones start RBC production. After 20 years of age, RBC production is restricted to ends of long bones and membranous bones since red marrow is replaced by yellow marrow.

A) Genesis of Blood cells:

  1. Pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells(PHSC): These are primitive stem cells present in the bone marrow which can produce all types of blood cells - RBC, WBC and platelets as well as PHSC themselves.
  2. Commited Stem cells: These are also known as progenitor stem cells, formed from PHSC and are of two types----

i) Committed stem cells of myeloid series (CFU-S & CFU-B)-They differeniate into RBC, neutrophil, monocyte, eosinophl, platelets

ii) Committed stem cells of lymphocyte series (LSC)- They differentiate into T- and B- lymphocytes.

Factors controlling:

a) Growth inducers: Interleukin-3

b) Differentiation inducers

B) Stages of Differentiation of RBC (Schematic):

  1. Proerythroblast: Large cells, 15-20 micron in diameter, large nucleus with 2-3 nucleolus, cytoplasm very less and basophilic with perinuclear halo and sometimes forms 'ear-sahped" bulges, nuclear chromatin is non-homogeneous
  2. Early Normoblast: Slightly smaller cells, 12-17 micron in diameter, reduction of nuclear size, disappearence of nucleolus, cytoplasm is moderately basophilicwith high protein and RNA content, condensation of chromosomes occur.
  3. Intermediate normoblast:Diameter of cells is 12-15 micron, nuclear size is further reduced having a "cart-wheel" appearance, chromosomes are further condensed, cell division stops totally, cytoplasm is polychromatophillic, appearance of hemoglobin takes place.
  4. Late normoblast: Cells are reduced in size with 8-12 micron diameter, "ink-spot" nucleus and finally disappears, increase of hemoglobin amount, cytoplasm or pyknotic becomes acidophilic.
  5. Reticulocyte: Size of cells are 8 micron in diameter, formation of highly branched pattern by remains of mitochondria, ER, ribosomal RNA -hence named as reticulocyte.
  6. Erythrocyte:Mature RBC with 7.2 micron in diameter, biconcave shape, absence of nucleus, high hemoglobin content makes the cells typicaly pink red in color.

How realistic are weight loss success stories?

The answer depends on the source. Some stories are genuinely true, while others may leave out important facts or exaggerate them. Specific to "real results" shown on television (and other media including the Internet), there is nearly always a disclaimer (in the US, at least) stating that these results are not typical. You may interpret this to mean that the results shown are what they want you to see as possible, but they can't lawfully guarantee it (without losing a lot of money on refunds).

Do bodybuilders do cardio every day?

Bodybuilders very seldom do cardio. They focus almost completey on the weights. So if you ever make a bodybuilder mad you have a good chance at running away.

Typically about 3 months out from a show they will begin doing cardio up to usually about 2 and a half hours a day split into two sessions. Though it does depend on the bodybuilder. However throughout the rest of the year cardio is kept to a minimum or not at all.

Why no weight loss in 4 weeks of exercises?

Perhaps you are not eating right. Exercise will mean nothing if you are eating too much or too unhealthy.

What is the result if a tight fist is made while walking?

Making a tight fist will create tension in the hands, arms, and shoulders. Think about holding a table tennis ball without crushing it.

What is a good pre-run strategy if you are in the national guard and have a two mile run tomorrow - for example what is good to eat the day before and maybe for breakfast?

There is no magical meal that will make the run easier. You are thinking, perhaps, of loading carbohydrates. That is a technique that can work for elite athletes, but it is an involved technique that requires days of preparation. In your case, eat a well-balanced breakfast 2 to 4 hours before your run and you should be fine. Be well hydrated, too. You should be drinking at least 3 quarts of clean water daily.

What is swim sprint?

Swimming sprint is basically going as fast as you can. An example of this would be the 50 or 100 yard freestyle because the swimmer only has to swim a short amount so they can go all out. On the other hand, a person swimming the 500 freestyle would not start out going as fast as they can because they would get exhausted before they finished.

Translate the doctor's language into common English there is evidence of neurological impairment with dysesthesia and mylogical deficit?

It might help to get this translated if there weren't so many misspelled words: "There is evidence of neurological impairment with Dysesthesia and Myological Deficit" I am not a doctor but it seems to be saying there is some neurological problem, meaning spinal and brain problem, involving distorted sensation of touch and muscular problems. That's as good as I could figure out. what is the patients likely condition

How do you heal a shin splint?

by resting the affected area for a period of time. then slowly doing more and more.

the above is true but if you cant rest then ice for 15 min after practice or take a paper cup, fill it with water, then freeze it. when its done rip off the top part of the cup so its like half paper half ice then give yourself an ice massage..it feels great. also try to run on soft surfaces an never run with your shoes off. also you might have bad shoes and may need to replace them...hope this helps, keep running! :)

I've had shin splints for like ever because of cross country so I went to see a specialist. What I've usually heard is icing three times a day for about 20 minutes, massaging it once a day so that it loosens everything up, and there are tons of stretches that help especially with shin splints that you can look up online. I still have em but I can feel these things helping me not hurt as much! =]

ive also had shin splints, but only for a couple days. I got them from running th mile at school and im not really a runner. if your not either, pace yourself while running and never start out too fast. i think that's how i got it.

Ice and rest are the only way to allow shin splints to heal. This is because shin splints are usually caused by a strength imbalance between the posterior(back of the leg) soleus and gastrocnemius muscles and the tibialis anterior muscle (located on the front lateral part of the lower leg). This imbalance tears the tibialis anterior muscle off of the tibia in little sections along the length of the bone.

After you have given your body enough time to repair the muscle and bone you can return to exercise. To prevent shin splints from returning you should engage in some type of exercise that targets strengthening the tibialis anterior. How fast must you run to complete a mile and a half in 14 minutes?

Velocity (or speed) = Distance ÷ Time.

This type of speed is normally measured in miles per hour (mph) .

14 minutes = 14/60 hour = 0.2333 hour (4dp)

Speed = 1.5 / 0.2333 = 6.429 mph

Can the epiglottis flutter for any reason?

The epiglottis does not flutter. The part of the human body that is able to flutter is the thoracic diaphragm and these spasms are called hiccups.

Cardiovascular fitness measures the health of which body system?

an odd and poorly worded question deserves multiple answers.... the heart/the muscular system/the circulatory system.

Is it possible to have fat behind your abs if you do cardio and stomach exercises and have a great six pack but still have a large bulging waist?

if u mean can u be a bit wide aroun the waist even though u workout And have a six pack, then ya, it's possible. just because u hve abs, doesn't mean u can't still be big around the waist. Also, if u do intense cardio workouts like everyday it takes time to get slim. If you've Been Doing intense workout for a really long time (about 6 months) then you probably just have inherited bad metabolism. But if the buldge looks odd and not right and you been woking out fr a super ssuper long time, it wouldn't hurt 2 c a doctor

Do cranberries increase your metabolism?
