No.Experiments done with carbolic acid has prooved it wrong.So we are yet to find a strong snake repellent.But for any practical purposes precaution meantime seems to be a better option.House cleanliness,rodent hole destruction,banning snake hiding place (like bushes,unneccessary heapings etc etc) would in great extent reduce snakes gaining access to our houses.

There is NO SUCH SPECIES as a garden snake ! IF you meant a 'Garter snake' - then no - there are NO vegetarian snakes- ALL snakes are carnivores !

It depends on the age, gender, species and feeding schedule of the particular boa. Neonates will weigh between 20-30 grams at birth and a female boa can grow to lengths/weights of 14 feet/100 lbs. but each animal is unique and where one can weigh 100lbs, another would certainly be considered obese if it is significantly shorter at the same weight.

Snakes can come in any color, and you wont always know if it's poisonous by the color. If you see a Snake in the wild, its best not to touch it. Only pick up or touch a snake if you are positive it is nonpoisonous.

Corn snakes like all constrictors will strike the prey to hold it in place with their teeth while wrapping (constricting) around their prey. As they prey breeths out they squeeze harder not allowing their prey to breeth in until the prey is dead from the complete lack of air. At that time they begin to swallow their prey.

if you never been bit don't answer this question cause they don't want your advice, so ive been bit by my corn snake when i was cleaning my terrerrium it was non-poisonous so i couldn't die. so it bit me and it was rear-fanged it had 5 teeth marks on each sides on my arm.

I wouldn't recommend one for a first-time snake. The ROYAL PYTHON (Python regius) - to give its official name - is well-known for going on 'self-imposed fasts'. This means they can just stop eating for no apparent reason (and I speak from experience !)

They are NOT poisonous, they are constrictors. Do some research. I personally have never had any agression problems from my snake even during shedding, but he does hide more. I would recommend leaving your snake peaceful while shedding, (and my friend has never had any from his).

A cornsnake bite is not really some-thing you need to worry about anyway.

Their teeth do little damage and barely hurt, the only problem would be the shock of the fact it did bite you.

Corn snakes eat a variety based on preference. Mice, rats, chicks, baby bunnies, quial eggs, etc. Somtimes a snake will refuse to eat anything but what their particular taste calls for. Sometimes this is trial and error, which can be frustrating. I and most herp owners recommend frozen then thawed mice/baby rats for an adult corn snake. Corn snakes can even be particular as to what kind of mice they're eating, be it African soft furred mice, white mice, colored mice, etc. Like i sad, trial and error. good luck =]

No and no. They are harmless and great beginner snakes.

All snakes bite, especially when they are young and think everything is food. Corn snakes like most colubrids and will musk (release a very strong scent from their glands in their vent) prior to biting if found in the wild. If the snake is captive, the more you handle it the more "tolerant" it will become and by virtue will bite and musk less.

No. A heat lamp or undertank heater should suffice if the room the tank is in is below 65 degrees F. Uv lights are usually for more fragile reptiles, such as chameleons. The heat lamp(if that is what u choose to use) cannot be the only source of light for the snake, though. They will need other sources of light, which they should be exposed to already if they are played with regularly.

Assuming they don't fall prey to other animals, and remain healthy throughout their lives - it's possible they could live up to 20 years.

it depends if your gerbil or mouse is active or lazy if your mouse is lazy and your gerbil is active then the gerbil is probably faster but if your gerbil is lazy and your mouse is more active then your mouse will be faster so it depends!!!!!

You can buy mice the food specially formulated for them, whether it be pellets or mixed seeds and grains. If you feed them the mixed seeds and grains type food, be careful that they don't only pick out their favorite pieces. You want them to have a balanced nutrition. I've heard they can even eat hamster food, if you really want. You can feed them other seeds, nuts, boiled rice, cereals, uncooked oatmeal, fruits, and vegetables, but take it easy on the salt (it's bad for them in large quantaties - and "large" for them isn't all that much!) and if they start to get diarrea, stop feeding them extra snacks for a few days and try again, more slowly and less extra food this time.

Snakes do not have a specific number of times they shed in a year because it depends on how much they eat. The more they eat the more they shed. So you can control how fast your snake will get and how fast but keep in mind that if you want them to grow slow dont end up starving them.
