Caution:On models equipped with Delco-Loc 2 or Theftlock audio systems make sure you have activation code * Disconnect the negative battery cable * Remove the drivebelt on 2.2L engines.Remove the air intake duct from the engine on 2.3L and 2.4L engines * Disconnect the inlet and out hoses from the power steering pump * Unbolt the power steering pump from the bracket on 2.2L engines or from the rear of the camshaft housing on 2.3L and 2.4L engines * Remove the pump * On 2.2L engines remove the pulley from the power steering pump with a suitable pulley removal tool * Installation is the reverse of removal.Tighten the pump bolts and fittings securely * Prime the pump by turning the pulley in the reverse direction to that of normal rotation until the air bubbles cease to emerge from the fluid when observed through the reservoir filler cap * Install the drivebelt * Bleed the power steering system

Unhook the cable from the Cavaliers battery. Find the opposite end of the cable and pull it out. Fit the new cable in following the old cables route. Connect the non battery end of the cable, then hook to the battery.

I have a '91 Cavalier 2.2L My flasher is located behind the fuse box to the left of the steering column. The flasher is mounted against the firewall.

In order for you to change your water pump, mine is a 1991 cavalier and I had to take everything apart. I first started with the altanator, then you have to take off or loosen the power steering pump in order to take off the tensionor pulley that is a big alluminum plate with the tension pulley bolted to the head in order to access the bolts to the water pump. Its a pain, you just have to have patients, (TIP) in order to loosen the powersteering pump the bolts are inside the pulley, it has holes in the middle of it and you have to rotate the pulley to get to the bolts.

The 2001 Chevy Cavalier parking brake has an adjustment bolt on the parking brake assembly. Turn the adjustment bolt to loosen or tighten the parking brake.

Check the fuse, Check the connect to the horn and make sure its not corroded. Then if all that is good you need to take the horn off steering wheel. If you have airbags, you will need to disable them first.

If the left turn is on, move the lever up and the right turn signal will go on. If the right is on, move lever down to get the left to signal.

This one is fun - (STEP1-)With a long screw driver, insert it into the small hole located between the headlight and turn signal and press the screwdriver towards the turn signal while pulling out the turn signal housing and it should slide right out(STEP2-)Turn the light about a 1/2 turn to the left and the wiring harness should come right out(STEP3-)Remove old bulb and replace with new... now just insert new bulb back into the housing, and then slide the housing back into the car. Make sure you line up the prong with the hole. And you should also hear a snap. If not, its not in right and it will fall out while driving...GOOD LUCK!

1)Disconnect the battery. 2)There is a plastic cover on the driver's side of the oil pan with three bolts in it that you must remove. 3)You should now be able to see the two mounting bolts for the starter remove them. 4)there should be two sets of cables running to the starter disconnect the smaller and then the larger since the larger should be supporting the starters weight. 5)install new starter in reverse order. Add shims one at a time between the starter and the engine if you notice the engine is slipping on startup after you installed the new starter.

Any fluid would cause the fluid low light to come on in a Chevy cavalier.

Fluids such as brake line fluid, power steering, transmission, and quite possibly oil. Everything but gas, grease and radiator fluid.

Get her checked out at any large garage. They should take a glance for free.

Do it soon though. The item may burn up and you will have to get a new part.

Take the Cav to the dealership. Its worth the money to get them changed there.

or you can jsut go to an auto parts store and buy them yourself. They roughly are $40-$50 per injector. If its a 2.2L you just unscrew the screws holding it down and remove the bar that holds them down. Then you can simply pull them out. Careful not to let it spray ya, cause there will be some fuel in there. You should also see 2 orings per injector. If you only see one, just stick the injector back in the hole, the other one should come out with it when you pull it out again. Hope this helps and it will save ya some $$$

To relieve the fuel pressure: remove the fuel pump relay and fuse (under the hood, left side of engine compartment), start the car and let it run until it dies, turn the engine over a couple of times to remove as much fuel from the lines and fuel rail as possible. This will reduce the amount of pressurized fuel and reduce the mess of removing the fuel pressure regulator and the injectors.

* Disconnect the negative battery cable.If the vehicle is equipped with a delco loc 2 or theftlock audio system make sure to have the activation code before disconnecting the battery. * Remove the drivebelt * Label and detach the wires from the backside of the alternator * Remove the mounting bolts and separate the alternator from the engine

Drain the radiator. Remove the pump belt. Remove the fan and shroud if needed. Unbolt the pump and remove it . Bolt on the new pump. Reinstall the fan and shroud, the belt, then refill the radiator.

Blown fuse, defective thermal relay, or defective fan motor. Check the fuse and if it is ok, and all wires are connected, apply 12 volts directly to the fan motor the see if it is ok. If so, replace the thermal relay.

this is a cavalier we are talking about this is a tipical problem,try hitting the door panel,or remove the panel and hit the motor directly garaunteed the switch is fine its the window motor that's the likely cause,to be sure though you could check for power to and from the switch if good than make sure you have power to the motor just in case there is a wire broken in the door jamb/

in the transmission behind the engine toward passenger side mounted onto the transmission with one nut and has a plug with 2 wires in it. May be better accessible by removing passenger front wheel.

There are many sensors that could be called the emission sensor for this vehicle, but I suspect you might be referring to the oxygen or O2 sensor. It will be found in the exhaust manifold, close to the connection with the exhaust pipe. Hope this helps!

There could be an internal problem with the transmission. Check the transmission fluid for a burnt smell or odd color, indicating transmission damage.

The engine codes for gasoline engines in the 1985 Chevy Celebrity:

2.5L 4 cylinder engine code R

2.8L V6 mpfi code w

2.8L V6 carburettor code x

The first place to check is to see if the clip is attached to the horn itself. Sometimes they work themselves loose or accidently get knocked when a mechanic is working near it. Secondly, check the fuse in your fuse box. Lastly, depending upond the year of your vehicle, it may also have a relay in the electrical line, so trace the wire back away from the horn and see if there is a relay. This junction can also work itself loose over time, but if it is snug, remove it, take it to Napa, or your favorite parts store for another. If that is not it, then you may need to replace the horn, but if you are going to do that, go to a junk yard, and pick up a GM horn (easy to bolt back in) for a tenth of the price you would have to pay at your dealership. You can put anti-freeze into the search tank of your Chevy Cavalier. Newer Chevy Cavaliers have a sealed radiator and the search tank is the only place you can put anti-freeze into the system.
