What is faster a Ford Mustang or a Chevy Corvette?
the Corvette no question. The Corvette is a sports car, while the Mustang is a sporty coupe. A better question would be Mustang vs Camaro, in which the Camaro wins. Conclusively, even the most suped up Mustang wouldn't be able to take on a stock 1989 corvette, with an exception of the best Shelby package, which would be a difference of 2007 vs 1989. There is just no competition, they are in two different leagues.
[EDIT]
it is obvious from the build of the Mustang, that it wasn't built to race. It is a far heavier car, and it's bulky build was clearly not designed for aerodynamics.
[EDIT]
To the guy up there ^^
Mustangs are built to drag race it's not an all-over super sports car but it has a decent weight decent hp and it looks good. Specially the 2005-2009 model / 2010 model
as he said the mustang gt has no way in winning against corvettes stock vs. stock
but with mild bolt-ons it can preform and might win against the C5
and it's a drivers race between the new mustangs with LS1 camaros/gto's
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mustang#Racing
for more information about the racing part since he dissed it so much
PLUS; There is the mustang shelby gt500 it's a good competitor to corvettes C6/C6 zo6's
and the Mustang Super Snake is the Zr1 rival.
DUDE's
THE mustang is the better car out of the corvettes...to all you corvette lovers line up with the 2010 mustang and let me know what happens...i will let you know that the mustang will win in the race... especially in the drifting world the corvette cant drift worth s**t the mustang comes out on top all the time
Corvettes are way better than a cheap mustang. A corvette would beat any mustang no matter what. For all Mustangs lovers, just to let you know they aren't a true sports car. My dad's 08 vette would smoke any mustang and that's a fact!

How do you change an alternator on a 1991 Corvette?
Remove clip-on and red wire from back Remove belt by releasing pressure on the auto-pressure arm on passenger side of motor at front, near center at bottom. I used a 2-foot jack lever to push down while a second person removes belt with screwdriver remove 2 bolts holding down the reservoir in front of the lowest bolt on the alternator Remove 3 bolts Reassemble. 2nd' person needed to re-attach belt while i hold down pressure arm. Saved me 400 bucks
I have had this problem with both doors on my 77, but mostly on the drivers door. My problem is that a lever in the latch hangs and does not return to the reset position. The handle linkage can't trip the lever to release the latch. Have tried applying grease unsuccessfully and will replace the latch when I get annoyed enough. Until then, I carry a welding rod under the seat to push the lever down. This can be done with no disassembly, just roll down window and insert the rod at rear of window opening.
Try this on your non opening door.Just bought a 77 to add to the 3 Corvettes we already have. The passenger door wouldn't open with either handle and it wasn't locked. I had to get more visable access to the latch mechanism, which meant the door panel had to come off. Got it off with the window down and the door closed. It's easier taking the seat out too, but this seat wouldn't move back to getat the front bolts. Not an easy task taking the door panel off with the seat still in place, but it can be done without ruining anything. Next was fish around with a long screw driver at the latch mechanism that I could now see. Pushing on the correct lever and the door opened. Closed the door 2 more times and had to use the screw driver 2 more times pushing on the lever to open it. What I think happened was the factory grease turned hard in the past 29 years, add in some dust and dirt and now you have grease that turned to glue. The mechanism got a bath (2 cans of Gumout) followed with a bath in WD-40 to wash, then a few squirts of engine oil. It's now opening on it's own with either handle. No adjustments on the rods were necessary as nothing was bent. It actually worked now in probably 50 consecutive tries in the past 2 months with no problems. The drivers door mechanism got the same treatment to ward off future problems with it. This problem was new to me in my 30 years of Corvettin. What seems to be a major problem is actually a simple solution, keep things clean. How much horsepower does a 1984 Corvette have?
the 1984 L83 Corvette engine has 205 HP@4300 RPM and 290 ft-lb of torque@2800 RPM measured at the crank. The L83 was introduced in 1982 for the last model year of the C3 Corvette, and the first model year of the C4. These were the only 2 years that had the L83, which featured Cross-Fire fuel injection.
Corvettes' are very reliable. One of the most reliable cars out on the market.
Hope this helped.

How do you change the tail light bulb on a 1998 Dodge Stratus?
Pop the trunk, there are three plastic wing nuts that hold the lens to the body (one is hidden under the carpet which can be removed by two screws), remove the wing nuts, pull the lens away from the body. On the back side of the lens twist the grey cap firmly that holds the bad bulb and remove cap. Pull the bad build out replace with a new bulb.
What is the most efficient model of a submarine?
Until the advent of Nuclear Power for submarines, which gave them much greater speed capability underwater than on the surface, submarines were essentially designed as low-profile surface vessels with limited submergence capability. As such, their overall design made them noiser underwater and faster on the surface rather than quieter and faster underwater, the hallmark of modern submarine designs.
The most hydrodynamically efficient model of submarine is the elongated teardrop shape that is characteristic of most large modern military u-boats. These boats have a rounded nose, a hull diameter that is appropriate to the design objectives of that particular boat, and then the hull tapers down in diameter back past midships to just a few feet around at the aft end where the screw is attached to the shaft. It makes for really good hydrodynamic performance and good efficiency. It's a quiet shape, too, and it's all about the noise, isn't it? Sharp points on the bow make for extreme difficulties in design and add little to nothing to the performance of the hydrofoil. (It's more about cross-sectional area after considerations regarding the shape of the nose, or bow.)
Also, as mentioned, a nuclear submarine is operationally efficient because it can operate at sea for extended periods without the need for fuel, and, more importantly, can operate UNDER the water for a long time because the propulsion system doesn't require air - oxygen - as part of its power generating cycle. Lastly, think about this: an old diesel electric submarine, when it is operating underwater using its battery banks to drive an electric motor to turn the screw, is REALLY quiet. A nuclear boat constantly runs pumps and steam turbines while underwater, and these actually make more noise than the electric systems that drive the old boats when they are submerged. Of course, when the old boats surface to run engines to charge batteries, they can be heard for many miles and identified for what they are.
How do you release the hood on a 1987 corvette with a dead battery?
you pull the release latch on the drivers side of the instrument cluster, it is all mechanical and does not need battery power
Why is it that both of your headlights wont go down even though the fuses are ok and they do go up?
if the car was involved in a front end collision the bumper guard could have been pushed back enough to block them from going down. My headlights were in such a way they would go up but not down - had to remove the bumper guard and then straighten out the frame a little for em to work
What did a new 1980 Corvette cost in 1980?
In 1980 there were just over 40,000 coupes made, and no convertibles. The BASE price started at $13,140.24 and options were added to that.
Why does your 1987 Corvette puff blue smoke when you first start it?
The engine valve stem seals are worn. Usually valve stem seal replacement is all that is needed, occasionally there is wear in the valve stems and/or valve guides which requires further repair.
How long is the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette?
The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette is 14 ft. 6.6 in. (174.6 in.) long.
How do you replace a front turn signal on a 2003 Corvette?
First turn the headlamps to the on position. Then turn the switch back one click to the parking light position. Take a 13mm wrench and remove the hood stop. From there you work blind, feel your way to the socket and push the lock tab in and rotate the socket. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket. If it burns out again in a few weeks check if the housing is cracked from heat. If it is then driving in the rain will drip onto the hot light bulb and it will be out again shortly. You can seal up the housing with some RTV smeared over the crack. Good Luck, Dave
