Chevy Tracker

I am looking for the same answer. All of the other fuses are removable with ease. I cannot find any release. Please help me.

you must take the screws out. there is one on eack leg of the fuse. I think they are are both Phillips and 10mm nut

Night, and day. The Tracker was built by Suzuki, when Chevy owned prt of them. The whole Geo line was either Suzuki, or Toyota. Equinox, by Chevy. It is also a completely different vehicle. Too different to compare here.

The filter is locatd behind the glove compartment. How to change it: Open the glove box Empty contents Pull the door down to the next detent, if you had anything left in it, it will be on the floor now You should now be able to see the compartment where the filter is located Pull the pin to open the door where the filter is located and replace Is it necessary? I like having it, my family suffers from horrible allergies and while it does not alleviate all symptoms, it is helpful to keep the dust and allergens out.

On the lower right hand corner of the radio hold down the ^ button until the radio beeps and then one button operates the hour and the other operates the minutes.

It's an open front differential if it is stock. So is the rear differential

SAE 5W30 or 10W30

I would recommend the SAE 5w30 synthetic blend.

The only thing more frustrating than changing those two bulbs on my 2001 Tracker is signing into the page. You DO NOT need to remove the license plate - although it will give you about an eighth of an inch more wiggle room. I am a 50 year old woman and managed to do this on my own but it took an hour, a lot of sweat (I'm in FL) , three beers and a lot of cursing.

The plastic lens covers screw off - you have to rotate them about one sixth of a turn and they will pop out. The bulbs themselves do not screw in (this is indicative also by the package of new bulbs that they just pop in) but they have to be in a vertical position to do so. Managing to get your fingers and thumbs up into this limited space is extremely challenging and I broke two nails. To get the bulbs out I finally resorting to using a small piece of rubber inner-tube as a grip and pliers. Getting the bulbs in and replacing the plastic lens covers proved even more challenging, but it is basically a reverse of the process above. Not rocket science but extremely frustrating. Who designs this stuff anyway?

I have a 2003 4 door 4 cylinder 2.0 model and it requires 5W30, and it is the same for same model since 1999.

Autozone auto Parts has free repair guides that include wiring diagrams, you'll need to register to gain access but its free and very helpful.

Hi,There could be a few reasons, the fuse, the blower motor resistor, the fan switch. Any of these could be the problem but you need to first do the checks, fuse first, if ok then look further. I also hve the same problem and I believe it's the an resistor as I've had to replace one before. I've also had a problem with the fan switch. Good luck. Steve H.

i have a 2002 chev tracker and the fuel filter is located just above the rear end it is a litlle awkward to get at it i hope this is of some help

Complexity depends on whether it is 4wd or 2wd. I just replaced oil pan on my daughter's 4wd. In order to do so I had to take out the front drive axle and remove the front differential. I also had to disconnect the power steering pump in order to gain enough clearance. If you are a good do it yourselfer, it's just a time consuming project. Otherwise, you may want to take it to a Chevy dealer and let them do it.

2wd should be easy as there is no differential or drive axle to deal with.

To remove the window knob,you need to purchase a tool at any auto parts store, you would then slide the tool behind the window crank and simply push out the clip that holds the window lever in place.

assuming you plan to change the speakers on the frond doors, remove the bottom screws on the door frame (they should be facing up), then remove the bottom half of the door panel. Unscrew the stock speakers and replace them with new ones. Then put the door frame back on the door.

I recently swap 1996 geo/Chevy tracker engine with a 1996 suzuki engine and it worked. you have to make sure they both have G16A stamped on both engines. you MAY have to swap intake and exhaust manifold, flywheel, alternator bracket, and a few other things. just make sure they are the same engine (G16A)

Instead of manually shifting the gears, a synchronizer gear is installed in the transmission, and a computer takes over shifting. Early autoshifts still retained a clutch pedal; current models do not, leaving that to the computer to manage, as well. The only one which has a torque converter is the Allison TC10.

There is a special tool you have to order and it costs $100.00. I rented a Service Kit from my local O'Reily's Auto Parts. I was shocked to find the size that fits my itty bitty Tracker is the one for 1-ton 4X4 systems.

tHAT IS WHERE i AM TODAY. iT WILL HAVE TO BE ANOTHER DAY WITH A LOT OF SUNSHINE HOURS. i WAS ABLE TO FIND THIS MUCH ABOUT SUZUKI'S. REMOVE THE PARKING CABLE CABLE AND LEVER TO GIVE YOU EXCESS CLEARANCE WHEN YOU REMVOE THE DRUM. YOU WILL NEED A SLIDE HAMMER AND ATTACH TO REAR DRUM AND REMOVE THE DRUM WITH THE SLIDEHAMMER. BE CAREFUL OF YOUR FINGERS YOU COULD ALSO USE A GEAR REMOVAL TOOL AND ATYTACH TO THE 2 SCREW HOLE (LOOKS LIKE 8MM) AND PRESS IT OUT.

First make a Diagram of how the belt goes around the Pulleys.

Get a 14mm socket and or wrench ( I used a breaker Bar)

Find the Tension Pulley, on my 1999 tracker it was silver and faceing the engine on my left next to the Fan Belt pulley.

Turn the nut toward tighten ( clockwise) and it will move down taking tension off the pulley.

Then work the old belt off an up around the fan blade to remove.

Put new belt back on the way you took the old belt off.

I took mine in to Uhaul to have them install a tow bar and light harness. Mine didn't come with a light harness, they had to install one.

Correction... Yes it is. Mine bent six valves. you can turn the crank and the pistons will touch the valves. So go ahead and pull the head and have it checked. This is NOT an interference engine. Just replace the chain, sprockets, and guides.
