How do you change the battery in a 2001 Chrysler lhs?
You're not gonna like this... It comes out through the right front wheel well, XXXXXXX. It pretty much requires that you jack the car up enough to remove the wheel for clearance as well. The battery is held in place by two small 10mm hex-head bolts at the center-top of the battery case between the fill/ vent caps. Remove those bolts and set the hold-down aside. It's now loose. Remove your air cleaner housing. It's held in place by a single rubber grommet-push peg that's just inboard of the housing base. Loosen the large duct toward the back corner of the engine and then pull the two-part push pin that holds the duct resonator to the fender. PULL. A shot of lube sometimes helps at the lower grommet. Remove the inner cover from the wheel well (takes about 6 1/4" hex head screws). Remove the cover from the inside of the well or from the underhood area... it's a struggle either way. Now the battery can be slid backward and the clamps removed. The rear (+) terminal is usually a cast-lead unit and uses a 1/2" nut, while the one at the other end is a 10mm nut. Decontaminate as needed by soaking the terminals in a dissolved solution of water and baking soda until the fizzing stops. Clean the inner terminal mating surfaces well with a wire brush or whatever you have on hand... it's just got to show some shine to be truly clean and ready to go. Always ash your hands after handling lead! Installation is just the reverse of this procedure. The inner fender cover is predictably gonna fight you; just take your time and watch where the plastic capture nuts fly when they come off (lol). Piece o' cake! Ed

What is input and output speed sensors?
these are sensors on the outside case of the transmission - on the left side/ drivers side 1 is above the CV halfshaft (axle ) the other is about 5" behind it -- each sensor has 2 wires going into it -- the negative and positive. these things are made of plastic and are easily removed with a socket. They also control the shift points -- they make the transmission shift.
What can cause the headlights of a 1996 Chrysler LHS to stop working?
I have a 1995 LHS that I purchased new in which I now have 188,000 miles and in both instances of the head lights failing was due to an open circuit in the multi function switch that is located on and in the steering column. The parking lights still worked however, the low beam headlamps & euro lamps wouldn't. The high beam would only work if I pulled the multi function switch toward me & held it in place. I do most of my own maintanence however, since the steering wheel has to be pulled & column taken apart I went back to Chrysler. $350 with tax.
Check the fuses first. The high beams and low beams are controlled by different fuses.

Where is the cigarette lighter fuse in a 99 Chrysler LHS?
Fuse panel. This information can be found in your owner's manual. If you do not have one, then I suggest you get one. You need an owner's manual to know what items to service and when, and for specifications. You can order one from a dealer, find one at a salvage yard, ebay, or one of these sites: http://www.carownermanual.com/ http://vehicleownersmanual.com/ http://www.vintage-books.com/owncat.htm
The fuse is located in a fuse panel in the dash, on the driver's side accessed by removing the side panel that is hidden by the driver's door when shut. There is a diagram on the inside of this panel showing what the fuses are. Verify that you have the diagram oriented correctly when reading it.

Where is the cruise control fuse located on a 1991 Ford E-150?
I have a 1991 E350 and the fuses are under the dash drivers side. Cruise control fuse is labelled in owners manual. My fuse is good and my cruise is not working. I do not get the "cruise" light to come on either. I am going to check the steering wheel spider as suggested somewhere else. Its accessible by removing two bolts in back of steering wheel(?). Repeating what I saw on another question. Be sure to disconnect battery and wait 5 minutes to prevent air bag from deploying before removing bolts. I have already checked the actuator arm to the fuel injection system and it is not broken and looks as if it is OK.
