Both are designed to run "slower" in order to save battery life. That is, the internal clockspeed -- the number of activities that can be performed per second -- is slower than a comparable non-M series chip. However, they have a greater amount of throughput, meaning they have more pathways to send data down (rather than sending the data faster on a smaller amount of paths).

Between those two specific lines, however, Pentium is faster (and thus more expensive). The Celeron line of chips was designed specifically to be a cheaper (and thus less efficient) option.

I do, as a student using a laptop is necessary. Since it is portable I can take it to the library classes and other areas.

It can also be used by business people because of the portable aspect.

The Intel "iCore" line is Intel's newest line of processors. The lowest, the i3, is to replace the Core 2 Duo series while the i5 replaces the Core 2 Quad series. The i7 is a brand new series quad-core series. The iCore ranges from a dual-core (i3) up to the newest addition, a hexa-core (i7 Extreme).

The best feature about the iCore line is their HyperThreading Technology, meaning it has two processing threads per core. Basically it means that a dual-core will simulate a quad-core while a quad-core simulates an octa-core. It also utilises a new architecture, so if you have the older Core 2 processors, you'll need a new motherboard to support an iCore upgrade. Data transfer speeds are a lot faster due to the replacement of the frontside bus by Intel's Quickpath InterConnect.

Monitors, otherwise known as displays or screens, currently come in two formats: LCD and Trinitron ("the boxy thingy"). LCD pros: Flat, low radiation (as far as I know) LCD cons: displays can either come with or develop "dead pixels" - pixels that remain a solid color or display black, are very fragile - pressing the display surface is not "healthy" for the display Trinitron pros: deep color Trinitron cons: relatively moderate-to-medium radiation Both types of displays can suffer from "screen burn" - if an image is displayed for too long (several hours/days) it will permanently "burn" itself into the display and be visible at all times. Display technology is undergoing major research and development, and Plasma displays which feature very high quality are becoming cheaper and therefore more widespread. OLED (Organic LED) systems which feature extremely high contrast ratio (looking at something on an OLED is apparently not very different from seeing it in real life, as I've read) and although these are typically only found in MP3 players at the moment, they're being actively developed and will probably feature in TVs very soon (TV-sized displays built off prototypes of the devices already exist).

Both are mobile computers. However, the mini laptop has a keyboard while the tablet does not. A mini laptop's screen is smaller than full size, while one side of a tablet is the monitor. A tablet's monitor is touch sensitive and has a virtual keyboard when required to input info. Both do not have any space for built-in storage drives. The mini laptop does provide ports for connecting an external drive, while the tablet does not.

HP is not the best. There really isn't a best brand, it all depends on what you're looking for. HP has some nice business computers, if you're planning on distributing them to lots of offices. It also has some nice, cheaper home computers. They are also small and compact.

I had a choice between a macbook pro and an acer travelmate 8571. I went with the acer and I couldn't be more happy. I think it's really up to whatever you're going to use it for though. I'm in college, I work my Acer like a horse and up to this day it's never failed me.

My brother has a mac and I think it's a great machine, however, it's not for me... but as I said, that's just me.

I recommend that you compare a few laptops that you like from each make and go with whatever suits you the best. They both have their pro's and cons and you really have to know what you want from your computer.

I would have to say HP works the best because they last longer and they are nicer and if you buy HP used you can get a good deal, but you have to be careful were you buy. My sisters and I have HPs and they are nice.

Both are ok, but your best bet on buying any computer is buying from a smaller company. They generally give the best customer service as well as a more sturdy and higher quality computer.

A laptop is made out of hardware parts which are usually made out of very complicated electronic circuits which are usually printed on Circuit Boards and then have elements such as resistors and capacitors soldered on. The CPU itself is printed on a semiconductor silicon waffles.
