It will depend on your computing needs like e.g.

* Applications you plan to run

* Where do you need to use the computer and do you need it to be portable so that you can take it along with when traveling?

* How much processing power do you need for your applications?

* Do you need your computer to be easily upgradeable for processor, graphics etc.

* Budget

Laptops designs are generally constraint by weight and size of components which can be put in the machine so at the same price you can desktops more powerful configuration. Larger harddisk capacities and faster processors are available for desktops. For gaming desktops are recommended. Service and upgrades are cheaper for desktops. But if portability is the main requirement and you want a computer which can be easily carried in a bag or backpack then laptop is the only choice.

The newer MacBook and MacBook Pro models have some distinct differences. The MacBook is a white plastic shell with a smaller screen. All MacBook Pro models are now made of a solid, unibody enclosure.

Some advantages/disadvantages:

The MacBook Pro family has some obvious advantages. If you're looking for a lower-costing computer that can run Mac OSX, the MacBook would be your best choice. If you need something reliable that can do any task, go for it and upgrade to a MacBook Pro.

well, this computer is good to be a primary computer because it's powerful, games run perfectly on it, it's got a finger scan technology for your windows account and your accounts online and it's style is great.I am now writing this answer using hp pavilion dm4, this computer is also good, by the way, another special thing about these new hp computers is that in 5 seconds you can acces internet, skype, photos, pictures, music, mail, chat, calender and games.

It will run if your hardware specs are high enough (which they probably are), but you'll also need an external disk drive to read the CD since netbooks don't have one built in. Or if you manage to find a download, that works too.

I would have to say HP works the best because they last longer and they are nicer and if you buy HP used you can get a good deal, but you have to be careful were you buy. My sisters and I have HPs and they are nice.

Both are ok, but your best bet on buying any computer is buying from a smaller company. They generally give the best customer service as well as a more sturdy and higher quality computer.

It's not. A higher than needed power supply will not harm your computer in any way. It will simply cost slightly more and draw more power. As they are more expensive, higher-watt power supplies will often have better warranties.
