Pretty much it's just the label and the support, the difference in the actual products and pricing are barely noticeable.

I've heard good things about both HP and Toshiba support, Toshiba you take it to your local approved technician and HP you take it to the store and they ship it to headquarters and fix it.

Personally I'd choose Toshiba, but it's all about personal preference, they're practically the same.

Acer laptops tend to be cheap because their build quality is inferior to other brands such as HP or Sony. Buying a HP/Sony alternative to an Acer will cost you 5 or 10% more, but they last longer and have better support.

no notebook laptops can not play games

yes, you can play games - though nothing too spectacular.... system shock 2 and Deus Ex play fine on mine. You'll need to have the game as a .bin file or something similar, then mount with 'virtual clone drive'. (don't use magic if it's win7).

I go to a small specialised art university every tutor and student uses them and the university is full of imac's simply because they want to insure the very best equipment for the given courses. You will only regret it if you don't, please take my word for it.

It really depends what you are looking for.

They use generic components to build their units, so for the extreme gamer it could be a bit of a hassle to deal with cheap stuff, but for the everyday user they are great.

I would say from simple word processing and web browsing to light multi media and gaming would about cover the range of Gateway brand computers.

There really is no average when it comes to computer costs. Computer prices range very widely. You could pay $150, or you could pay $10,000 for a computer.

For a sort of mid to high end (closer to mid, though) gaming computer would probably be anywhere from $700 to $1000. For a high end, I would say probably $1500+

For just surfing the web, checking email, and playing a few games on lower graphics setting, you could throw together a computer for $300-$500, probably even less.

like any other brand HP, ASUS, MSI, SAMSUNG and many others at first suck! i mean when they launched their first laptop, they got a lot of trouble on the way their expiremental stage! but later on they are more improve and compete to the market and became a "known Industry of Laptops!" Neo is just a baby after all... I have one unit of this brand, the old one... yeah its true, got easily heat is the major complain like me, have to buy fun to cool... HP at first always having troubled with their LCD.. I compare and used in 3 different model and got the same problem of LCD.. gush!!!! samsung and others not to mention!!! NEO nowadays for a test purpose unexpectedly reach my expectation! it is good and becoming more improve that i expected... but still a lot of improvement to do. BRAND RATE 7.5/10... not too bad.
