Sometimes the start bar "hides". Take the mouse pointer all the way to the bottom. Press and hold the left mouse button and drag the border up. I was infected when I downloaded a small program called FreeCorder to record in mpg format. McAfee didn't recognize it when I was scanning it directly. The free AVG by grisoft found it, but couldn't handle it. I had to format my drive the first time and lose everything.

I have the full version of AVG E-trust antivirus. When detected I did a complete scan and wiped the file. This is the second Trojan horse file in less than a month the last was the Dropper.VB.DD and E-Trust had no problem.. No I don't have any connestion to Grissoft E-Trust. Good luck

Unfortunately, most online antivirus programs CANNOT successfully remove this virus. It attaches itself to the winlogon.exe process, which is required for Windows to run, and so you will need to clean the system in an OFFLINE state.

I found this Trojan through AVG, which identified it. I reasoned that I had to stop the processing of the downloader, so I went to the task manager (ctrl-alt-del) to make the program stop. Then I went to the search function and located the program. Once I found the full location of the program, I opened up the folder and physically searched for the program. When I found the executable program, I removed it. I emptied the trash. I re-scanned the system and found that the Trojan was removed.
