What size resistor is needed to allow a 220 volt coil in a relay operate on 277 volts?

You will need to know the amount of current flowing through the coil when 220 volts is applied across it. A resistor in series with the coil will limit the current so that the coil only sees 220 volts. The resistor will need to drop 57 volts. So, 57 volts divided by the current in amps will give you your required resistance. You will need a resistor with a high power dissipation rating with 57 volts across it. Your resistor will probaly need to dissipate several watts. For example: A 220 volt coil with 300 milliamps (.3 amps) will require a resistor of 733 ohms. The power dissipation of the resistor would need to be 17.1 Watts! You might try using a light bulb as a series resistor. Ensure that it can handle 57 volts. To complicate matters, is that AC or DC you are using? AC relays have inductance build in, in order to increase the specific "ac resistance", thus the same coil could use as little as 0,001A so you will need a very low value resistor. Anyway, if any 220V relay uses as much as 300mA, I doubt if you will be able to pick it up with one hand! Such a relay coil will draw about 66W of power! I have a 16A rated contact 230V relay. Its current is 0,0015A that is equivelant to 0.33W at 220V!

No, The voltage will not change. The neutral is basically a ground and is used in conjunction with the phases to create another voltage and act as the return line in an electrical system. "Depending on the system that you have". If you have a 480 volt and used a neutral with it you would have 240 or 277 volt. The 277 volt is what is normally used in office lighting. If you have a 208 or 240 three phase system using a neutral you end up with the 120 volts that is used for just about all normal lighting, receptacles and general use devices used everyday.

What does an audio interface do?

An audio interface is basically the device that allows the computer to send and receive audio data to and from the outside world. Audio in the computer is digital, and music coming from a synth or mic is analogue. The audio interface "converts" those analogue signals coming in to digital code (a bunch of numbers that the computer can read as a certain sound). Then it can do the same in reverse. The audio interface is the mediator between the analogue (outside) and digital (computer) worlds.

The conventional wisdom is to pack it in dry, uncooked rice. If you happen to have a few dozen of those little silica gel "DO NOT EAT" desiccant packs, that would be even better. If your phone has a removable battery, be sure to take the battery out right away.

These "dots" are much smaller on DVD's which gives you more room to store information on the surface of the disc. Dual Layer DVDs hold 8.5GB. The pits on a DVD are much smaller and closer together than those on a CD. The new BlueRay disks can pack the pits even closer together because the blue light used to read them has a smaller wavelength and hence is able to resolve smaller details on a disks surface. CDs are read by a red or infrared light which has a much longer wavelength and is not able to resolve smaller pits on a disks surface.
