Where can you get a forearm for a Crescent firearm No 15 Empire Ejector 12ga shotgun?
go to gunstocksinc.com then look under misc. shotguns the fore arms are $25.00 i just ordered one myself
If complete and fully functional, $150-$250, depending on condition. If broken or rusted, a lot less. If in new condition, maybe a little more to the right buyer.
This will have to be one of the earliest Crescents. The proof mark indicates the barrels were finished in Belgium but the gun was not or it would have additional proofs. If the oval ELC has a crown above it, the barrels were produced sometime after mid-1893 and if not it was earlier, but not too much earlier because Crescent was founded in 1892. Any Belgian laminated barrels used by Crescent by 1900 or a few years earlier would have been finished in the US and would not have the ELG marks. Despite its age, these guns are plentiful, not in demand as collectables, and not suitable for use. Their primary value depends on how well they look over the fireplace in a yuppie's mountain home, perhaps as much as $250 in top condition.
Did crescent arms make a shotgun with the name American nitro on it?
Yes, but some single shots were also manufactured by Harrington and Richardson. Yes, there were 2 models, # 28 and # 44.
If it's a hammerless boxlock, it could still be a shooter worth $100 - $250. If it has large side hammers, it's a wall decoration but still worth almost as much. I have one... it belonged to my dad...he purchased it used around1918- 1920 SN 410344 stamper on the stock/receiver, barrel and the hand grip, (same numbers on all three pieces) ... Does this mean anytrhing to anyone??? Mdales Only to you. There is no serialization listing for Crescent firearms that would allow you to date its manufacturer.
How much is a Crescent Davis pistol grip 410 shotgun number 508 woth?
There is no model 508 listed. A single barrel 410 Crescent Davis lists at: Exc V.G. Good Fair Poor 175 125 100 75 50
The only reference I have on a "New Empire" gun lists it as a .410 or 20 gauge shotgun with a 12 1/2" barrel. If this is so that makes this gun somewhat of an outlaw unless it is regestered with the ATF. I do not believe you can legally own a firearm of this nature without a federal license. That said, the firearm does have some collector interest. These "Auto and Burglar" type guns are quite rare and I'm sure a good condition one would command over well $1000 bucks with the value dropping as the condition drops. If it is not this firearm then it would, unless it is of musuem quality, be worth, even in good condition, no more than $200 to $300 on the used gun market. If it is an "Auto & Burglar" and you do not have a federal license (and I suspect you do not or you would not be asking this question) the legal issues involved if you were to sell it could be quite scarry. There are federally licensed dealers (not your local gun shop) who could assist you in this regard.
Who made a 12 gauge double marked Utica Firearms Co 40207 top rib is stamped London Fluid Steel?
Well, you posted it under Crescent Firearms, and that' the right company. It was probably retailed by Simmons Hardware Co. of St Louis, Mo. I have a 20 guage double with the "Utica" and "London Fluid Steel markings. It also gas a Simmons Hardware grip plate. I found parts listed at numrich gun parts (www.gunpartscorp.com) and I also found some info in a Gun Traders book. The gun traders book says it was made by savage in Utica, Ny. There was a few more details but my book is loaned out at this time so I can't give all the info. The ordering information from Numrich indicates it is similar to or the same as the FoxBDE,(made by savage) Savage 540DL. If you will send your address I will give you the other information when my traders book is returned. Hope this is informative. gbigbopper1@wmconnect.com
Did Crescent Firearms make a shotgun called The New England?

How much is a Belgium Royal Damascus shotgun worth in fair condition?
Belgium is the country of origin, not a brand. Innumerable old damascus barreled shotguns were made in Belgium and imported into the US before and after the turn of the century. These were generally low cost shotguns, of no current collector value (better guns identify the manufacturer). If the Damascus pattern is pretty, and the receiver still has case colors, it may have some value as a wall hanger. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIRE IT! Damascus steel cannot withstand the pressures of modern smokeless powder. Even black powder should not be used unless the gun is fully examined by a very competent gunsmith.
What years did crescent firearm company make the smithsonian double barrel shotgun?
A few years either way of the turn of the century

Is there any where to get information on a crescent Firearm No 60 emire hamerless 12 gauge shotgun?
From the 2002 Standard Catalog of Firearms:
In 1905 Crescent's first hammerless sidelock was introduced as the American Gun Co. "Knickerbocker" Model No. 6. This very popular model became the Crescent "Peerless" No. 6 in 1922. In 1928 it became the Crescent "Empire" No. 60. and in 1931 the Crescent-Davis "New Empire" No. 88, "New Empire" No. 9, and "Empire" No. 9. For further information about Crescent Firearms of Norwich, Connecticut try Amazon.com or eBay for books on old firearms companies.
Manufactured sometime between 1893 and 1932. Worth between $25 and $100 depending on condition.
How much is great AMERICAN nitro worth?
I happen to have a Great American Nitro 12ga and am trying to gather some info. Regarding its worth, what I've learned is that it's in the 100-200 dollar range. Mine appears to be nickel plated. I am also trying to track down photos of GAN's owned by others so as to make comparisons.
The New York Arms Co. was a name applied to firearms made by the H & D Folsom/Crescent Arms Co. This organization, Folsom/Cresent Arms, manufactured low cost firearms under a number of different names. You could actually buy the same firearm at a number of different stores with different names on it. H & D Folsom ( of New York, N. Y.) imported low cost firearms and distributed them under various names. Cresent Arms (a manufacture of low cost firearms) of Norwich, Conn. was acquired by the Folsom Co. to be ther manufacturing division. As all the records of this originazation have been long since lost or destroyed it is difficult to tell if the New York Arms trade name was from H & D Folsom (imported) of Cresent Arms ( made in Conn.).

Is the firing pin on a marlin 39A supposed to slide in and out?
Yes the firing pin should float freely on top of the breech bolt. If you take the gun down (seperate the receiver) the firing pin will be visible, and should slide freely backa and forth.
i have a 20ga. double barrel side by side 27 3/4 in. barrel has damas extra fin on barrel. the only other stamping is CAL STALB V1 WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THANKS VERY MUCH DON
There are alot of commercially available preparations to do this. Some require heating up the barrel and others can be done without heating. These are readily available at a hardware or gun supply store, and all come with complete instructions on the bottle. I've had best results with Hoppe's Cold Blue. The most important thing to remember is that you must have the outside of your barrel absolutely clean and degreased. Acetone or mineral spirits works well for this. The bluing chemical (selenous acid) won't work if there's the slightest bit of oil or grease...(even a fingerprint). Successive applications on the same barrel will make it darker and darker. It's easy with a little practice.
What is a Nitro Washington shotgun?
Assuming you're talking about who the company transitioned into, and that would be Savage Stevens firearms. http://www.savagearms.com/
Did Crescent manufacture 22 long rifles under brand name Cumberland?
Cumberland was a known trade name used by a hardware catalog store, but typically on single-shot shotguns. Crescent was a shotgun manufacturer that primarily supplied the hardware/catatlog stores from the 1890's through 1920. I would like to see some digital pictures of this rifle. sales@countrygunsmith.net
