Many of these compound words that had hyphens in common usage have now do not, and the English language is famous for its inconsistencies. One that had me going was the change of co-operation to cooperation. My guess is that, as the word became more commonly used, the hyphen dropped from usage.

However, with cyberbullying, a compound word becomes a single word when it is a single idea. Generally, if the compound word is used as an adjective after a noun, then the hyphen is unnecessary (ie. actor is well known; canned goods were out of date). However, a dictionary is always a good source since there are always inconsistencies in usage (ie. cross-reference, cross section, cave-in).

You know them well. They may have been in your crowd growing up or in your neighborhood. You surely saw them in action at school or college. Oh no, you may have even noticed a bully or two at work. Corporate bullies come in all shapes, sizes and flavors. They could be a co-worker, a manager, your manager's boss or somewhere up the food chain.

When I grew up in the Edenwald housing projects in New York City I had a fight every day and never won any. Most of the fights were with bullies. My father gave me good advice. He said "fight like mad with all available weapons of opportunity. If a bully has to work to win a fight, they won't bother you again. They don't want to work that hard". My father was right. I hit them with everything and anything, when plain fists just wouldn't do. All of them became my friend or at least gave me big respect enough not to bother me, after each fight. After awhile, I had made so many friends I didn't have to fight anymore. I made allies out of the bullies.

Over the years I have maneuvered around corporate environments with the same type of attitude. There's no physical fighting and the weapons have changed. I became and continue to be a student in the use of the weapons called education, words, human nature and tactical strategy. Bullies mask their cowardice with various tactics. They may use intimidation, monopolizing meetings, not letting anyone else talk, taking all the credit for team projects, or even blatant threats, winning favor by ratting on others to the boss. Managing bullies love to use loss of a job as the ultimate tool. Eliminate the fear of this tool, by creating a secondary income. That's what "Savvy Intrapreneurs" do. A secondary income also allows you to tell your boss what she/he needs to know, not what you think they want to hear. This also means you will be more effective at performing your job. Set a goal of making your secondary income match your take home pay.

Find out what or who in the organization makes the bully afraid. Use this to your advantage. Notice the situations or make friends with the person that makes the bully cringe with fear. Everyone is afraid of something, unless they are mentally disturbed.

Learn to pick your fights with bullies. Standing up to bullies will make your star rise faster. You may not win all the time, but they will respect you. So will people under you, around you and above you in the corporate food chain. Add the tools above to your "fast track" management program.

Bullies are nothing more than insecure, hollow cowards who constantly seek attention. Smacking them back as hard or harder, without lifting a finger to physically touch them, is the secret to putting them in check.

because weird people tend to do things that are not socially normal and at times irritates people. it is a psychological effect that humans think of ways to get back on the person who irritates him/her. but we should also sympathise "weird" people and try to forgive them for their actions. hope my answer helps!

There can be many reasons. Maybe the bully is being bullied by someone meaner than them and they want to feel strong so they pick on people weaker and smaller than them.

It could just be them getting some kind of joy out of it. Usually it's because the person has a low self-esteem or because they're jealous of you or something you have.

Some people see everything in life as a competition, and if they can defeat any other person in any way, that means that they win. So they like to create unequal competitions in which they are going to win, by picking on people who are weaker than they are. This then makes them feel important.

The media contributes to bullying, but doesn't directly cause it. Nobody in media is saying, "Hey, if you beat up 10 people and call them names, we will give you a free video game or a free pair of the latest sneakers."

Now, if advertisements are saying more or less that you are not worth anything unless you buy, wear, eat, use, think, or believe certain things, then some people will believe them. Children are quite impressionable, and they are rather passionate about what they want. So if the media is attacking certain people, and those people go to their school, then they may be primed to bully them. Advertisements play off of vulnerable people. Bullies are emotionally vulnerable and latch onto brand names to find meaning and to feel like that are a part of the in-group. The victims of bullying are also vulnerable, and if they get bullied enough for not having or wearing certain things, they eventually find a way to get them, and it helps the companies with the advertisements. So the companies behind the advertisements benefit from bullying.

Of course, the media isn't just the television, radio, and reading material. There is social media on the Internet as well. While that doesn't directly cause bullying, it gives bullies a place to meet and organize, and provides another platform through which to bully.

There are also message boards and sites for self-expression (such as YouTube). While they don't cause bullying, they provide other ways to bully and make bullying easier.

No it is completely legal. Freedom of opinion and speech are the law. Do not kill yourself though. But killing the person who sent it to you is legal under these circumstances.

I guess a man asked this question. It is usually men who want cyber sex. Women are fussy about who they have sex with, and they prefer the real thing. If they like to just talk about it they can get a job working on a phone sex chat line and get paid money to just chat about it, men have to pay to just chat about it and pay a lot more to meet a stranger to do it.

There are people on the internet who seek cyber sex and ask strangers for it. They are usually refused or they end up with a man who is pretending to be a woman because he is desperate for some sort of free sex with a stranger.

Why not do the normal thing and get a proper relationship instead of asking total strangers for weird and incomplete types of sex?

the word bullying means that when a bigger person or sometimes a littler person wont stop picking on you or begging you for your lunch money and dropping and or tripping you and your friends and laugh at you. that's what the word bullying means.

Someone that picks on others with the intent of harming them, not physically, but mentally.

Cyberbullying on WikiAnswers is any action that insults and targets another user or person or group.

in most cases the parents of a cyber bullied child will not know about it until told by the child or a teacher or someone else involved, this is because the child in question is most likely more technologically able than their parents and either can hide the cyber bullying (from shame/with the intent to carry on 'normally' as if nothing is happening) or has their own personal interface from which they're being bullied, which is not monitored by the parents.

this makes the victims family feel incredibly helpless and frustrated, and on top of which, unable to do anything to help their child because many families don't know where to turn when a younger member is being cyber bullied.

an example of this would be when my sister was being cyber bullied my dad's idea to help her was to "ring facebook and complain".
