Who attacked who on D-Day?

D-Day was name given to 6 June 1944, which was the day that the Allied Forces launched an invasion of France to free that country from German control.

At that time, France was occupied by Nazi Germany and ruled by a puppet government known as the Vichy government, because its headquarters were in the town of Vichy.

The forces defending Normandy were German army troops from a variety of different sources. The German troops included several regiments of soldiers from countries under German occupation that were fighting in the German Army - mainly Eastern European countries.

The Allied troops invading Normandy included British, American and Canadian troops, as well as the Free French, who were French soldiers and sailors who had escaped the surrender of France to Nazi Germany in 1940 and continued to fight the Germans alonside the Allies. The Free French were led by General Charles de Galle, who would become President of France after the Germans were evicted from the country.

To summarise, on D-Day, British, Canadian, American and Free French troops attacked German troops in Normandy.

Did Ted R Rooservelt Jr die at Normandy?

General Theodore "Ted" Roosevelt, Jr. died on 12 July, a couple of weeks after landing with the troops of the 4th Division on D-Day. He is buried at the Normandy cemetery next to his brother Quentin Roosevelt, who was a pilot shot down in World War 1. Gen. Roosevelt was a very brave officer and some might say a little fool-hardy. During the campaign in Tunisia, his jeep had the name "Rough Rider" painted on it and on a couple occasions it charged off alone to chase the enemy. However, Gen. Roosevelt had a heart condition. He looked thin and somewhat fraile and his uniform almost concealed the fact that he was a general. Awards: Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Silver Star with 2 Oakleaf Clusters, Bronze Star, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, French Legion of Honor with Chevron, French Croix de Guerre with 3 Palms, Tunisian Order of Nicham.

What was the effect on Women and Children after the Blitz?

Well, my History teacher told me this story where he spoke to man who was evacuated, he sed that he was one of three, he had one younger and one older sister. He sed that life was tough, but yet he verry much enjoyed it. He used to live ion London with his Mother Farther and two sisters, his mother worked in a bomb factory as his farther went off to war. He got evacuated from London to St.Day (in Cornwall) to work on a farm His little sister went to Penzance (in Cornwall) to work in a local shop and his older sister went up to Scottland to be a woking maid in a fancy house. I got told thart there were a lot complaints from the local people about these children, this young boy had never seen a cow, and when asked to mike one, replied with "You cant milk that!" " Why ever not?!" "Science when can you milk a horse?" replied the young boy. Other complaint were alsom risen, such as we cant understand the, they speek werried, there rubbish at playing rugby!! They smell, have nitts, and there clothes are all smelly scruffy and dirty, one young child even stole but yet sed. "my dads a robber, i wanna be like him when ui grow up, so i need to practice!!" By this all of the children were underclassed, and not treated as well as they could of been, but they were gratefull, and got food and a roof over their heads. Although i do know that this verry man did occasinally get to visit his little sister in Penzance, but apart from that, the strain and upset as well as missing out must of been rather stroung on this children and mothers, and some had no contact, and did not see each other for many years, this man appx. arouned 5 years!!

IS THIS GOOD enough for day z and other games please help A M D A Series quad core A8-5600 Processor speed 3.6GHz 12GB RAM 3000GB SA TA hard drive Graphics Shared graphics A M D?

no not really first if you are going to run a apu you need 8 gb of ram at least 2133 mhz or 2400 mhz it doesnt share hard drive it shares ram so faster ram is more fps in game. if you want a decent apu a A10 7850k with 8 gigs of 2133 or 2400 mhz ram. the a8-5600 isnt bad if your gonna play in a really small res like really small. but the good thing about a A10 7850k is your gonna go apu is that you can dual graphics with the r7 240 or r7 250 and if you pair with a 2 gb gddr5 r7 250 and the a10 7850k with 2400 mhz ram its a beast adding a r7 250 and 60% more performance precisely ya it can run bf4 at 1920x1080 with dual graphics at like min fps of 34 to a max of 68 fps. remeber dual graphics is not crossfire its completly diffrent but adds exsactly 60 % performance on the a10 7850k

How many Luftwaffe planes were brought down on D Day?

This is one time Hollywood got it right in the movie "The Longest Day"---of course the movie was based on a facts from the excellent book by the same name. Only 2 fighter aircraft were able to get airborne and attack the Normandy beaches on D-Day: Oberst Josef "Pips" Priller, Geschwader Kommodore of JG26, and his wingman. Col. Josef 'Pips' Priller: [speaking in German] Thank you, my dear Hans! You have just killed both of us! [slams down phone] Luftwaffe major: It is getting very difficult to get any sleep around here. Col. Josef 'Pips' Priller: Your prospects for a long sleep have just improved. The invasion has begun at Normandy. We are to fly there and attack with our two planes. http://members.chello.be/kurt.weygantt/worldwariiaces.index.html_josef_pips_priller.htm
