Why ostream operators not overloaded using member functions?
Consider the following line:
cout<<obj;
where obj is the object of Demo class.
In this case we are overloading "<<" operator. But overloading the binary
operator using member function, the left hand operand should be the object of relevant class.
Here in this case left hand side operand is not the object of Demo class. It is object of ostream class.
Hence we cant overload ostream operators using member function. But we can overload these type of operators using friend functions.
Thanks,
Prof. D. H. Ingole

What beach did the allies meet the most resistance during d day?
On Omaha Beach, one of the two American landing zones. "Omaha" is the Allied code name for that location. The US 1st Infantry Division & the US 29th Infantry Division (Maryland-Virginia National Guard) assaulted that beach on D-Day.
Is there a list of names of American deaths on Normandy beach?
Yes, of course there is. I don't know how or if you can access it on the internet.
How are army helmets made partically world war 2 M1 helmets?
Most WW2 era helmets are made by a drop hammer forge. A plate of steel is laid over a form and a heavy hammer pounds it into the shape of the template. The M1 helmet has a thin metal seam formed around the edge so that it will not be sharp. The fitting for the chin strap is welded on.
Most helmets of other countries are made in similar fashion. Of course the German helmet is thicker steel as it does not have a liner.
The French Adrian helmet is made of 3 pieces that are formed and welded together.
Multimedia will help spread the information age to millions of teachers/learners who have not yet used the computer. Multimedia educational computing is one of the fastest growing markets in the world today.
Fueling this growth are advances in technology and price wars that have dramatically lowered the cost of multimedia computers. The growing number of internet users has created a larger market for multimedia. The new tools are enabling educators to become developers. Noting how multimedia is used to enable individuals to create course material, that once required teams of specialists, individuals can now produce multimedia desktop video productions.
Commercial and educational available generic courseware to support commercial products are emerging. For these reasons, it is important to share information about what goes into the development of multimedia, and the appropriate use of multimedia, so that educators can make wise choices in selecting instructional applications.

The allies needed to open up a second front in Europe. If they did not, it was possible that Russia would fall to the German Army in the East and that mainland Europe would remain uder Nazi occupation. Europe was at stake. Hitler held all of a large portion of Europe before D-day. Hitler could have sent the soldiers in France to throw back the Allies in Italy or the Russians. D-Day was the defining moment for the war in Europe. Hitler knew that as long as we remianed in England, he couldn't reach them. Europe was at stake. IT was to decide to who would get the spoils of the war. If D-Day had failed, then Russia would have taken most of the spoils.
Did Americans fight in Europe before D-Day?
I do know that American pilots did fly for the British during the Battle of Britain (Royal Air force versus Luftwaffe) in the Eagle Squadron. I cannot vouch for the historical accuracy of the name of the fighter unit, but American DID fly for the RAF. this was not officially sanctioned by the US government, but it is believed that members of the US War Dept. were VERY happy US airmen were getting vital combat experience in light of the emerging Japanese threat.
The scenes from Pearl Harbor vis-a-vis the Eagle squadron may have some historical accuracy.
