there were 3 placements for the fuel tank in 73. behind the seat, under the bed, or saddle tanks. There is a mechanical gas pump which runs off the crankshaft of your engine and sucks gas out of your tank. In 73 they put the fuel filter after the pump so many times the pump needs replacing, if so put the fuel filter in front of the pump, it will last longer.

The engine depends on what year of truck you are talking about but as far as the 60's and 70's go. The Dodge D100 came with a 170 cubic inch slant 6, the more popular 225 cubic inch slant 6, and from there it jumped to a v8 the 318, 360 or 361 depending on the year and from there it went to a big block 383 optional.

On the bottom (hood or cowl side) of the wiper arm is a little curved tab. With the wiper's springloaded arm folded away from the windshield move this tab away from the arm and the entire wiper arm assembly will come free from the shaft. Do this very gently, it should be very easy to do.

If you get a Hayes 1974-1993 Dodge Ram series manual, they have them in the back few pages in the electrical system section. Purchasing a manual for the vehicle is the best solution in this scenario. Diagrams are great, but there are processes that require special knowledge and procedures to repair engines. Haynes manual #556 is probably the best written manual out there for the Ram 50. There are Mitsubishi Mighty Max Manuals that will also cover 95% of your vehicle too since the Ram 50 is a re badged Mitsubishi. And there is also two different engines and 3 different transmissions that went in the 1988 model ram 50. These manuals will provide you in full detail the correct identification of these components so that costly mis-diagnosis and and incorrect part purchases etc.

check the automatic shut down relay on the inner fender. it will shut off spark and fuel when bad.
