A Dodge Shadow does not have a reset or shut off switch. The fuel system is computer controlled with relays.

10 6 1 2 7 9 5 4 3 8 tighten in that order when tightening turn one quarter turn then torque to 65 in that above order and then tighten to 65 in that order again

Unless you are putting on a new timing belt ,you do not set the timing on the car ,it is completely controlled by the onboard computer, if you are going to put a new timing chain on then post that you need the settings for that and i will try and find the diagram for you and the timing mark, i have it written down somewhere here in my notes , i had to repalce the belt or chain, per say and then and only then do u need to adjust the mark, after that its all pc stuff,

In behind the valve timing belt. You will not be able to see it unless you take apart the timing belt cover.

Need to check the map senser first and be sure the vaccume hose that hooks to it is not leaking vaccume. Then with engine running unplug the hose from senser and make sure there is vaccume on the hose. You should also check the fuel pressure regerlator by removing the vaccume hose that hooks to it while the engine is running, the engine should speed up if not then replace fuel reg.

That is simple... the one for the water pump... the belt goes around the crankshaft, over the water pump and around the alternator.

if it has a 2.5l like mine then its on the back side of the valve cover by were the air filter goes u have to take the air filter and cover off to get to it properly.

This is answered in another previous question. The best thing I have done is go to the local library, instead of buying that manual for 20-30.00. Library will copy off the pages you need for about .10 a page. I did it and it took me around 5 hrs. from time I got the copies. If you have a 4 cyl engine, you will see all marks. A 6 cyl 3.0 you have to get very precise, and if you have not done it before I would recommend taking it somewhere to do it..

The computer reads the temperature from the 2 wire sensor next to the thermostat. It then actuates a relay on the inner fender and turns on the fan.

[edit] most 3.0 V6 only have a 1 wire sensor.

Open hood, stand next to passenger side tire and look into motor. You will see the power steering box on left next or closest to firewall.

also why is it if you use starting fluid the engine will fire up

i am getting fuel thru the pressure regulator but will not fire up

new filter new fuel pump relay getting fuel but will not fire up

getting spark as well cause using starting fluid into the throttle

body the car fires up so why wont it fire up if it's getting

spark and fuel is it maybe not enough fuel

can the fuel be pumping from the fuel pressure regulator but

not be correct amount or correct pressure can the the fuel

pressure regulator still be faulty even if fuel is coming thru it

Ice in the fuel line. Happens all the time with shadows. Use some gas line anti freeze and it should solve your problem

the ECM is located under the hood on the driver side fender it is in a black box i just replaced it

The gap for the 2.2L and 2.5L is .035 according to the hood label.

I believe that you can switch the Horn Relay with the Fuel Pump Relay and if the horn no longer works and the Fuel Pump does then that relay went bad... try that, its a sure fire way to know whats wrong... If it checks out good it might be a Defective Fuel Pump.

the fuel filter is located underneath the car, on the passenger side, in front of the gas tank, you should be able to spot it easily.

Just replaced mine when I bought it. If you look up underneath the driver side dash, with your head near the pedals, it will be close to the radio. It's at the end of a wire which is not attached, simply hung over the a/c-heater hose. If you haven't checked, it's only a few dollars for the part, and you can do it yourself in two minutes. I would HIGHLY recommend disconnecting the battery first, however.

it does'nt..dodge made the cars with a cable clutch or is the transmission low on fluid? use 5w30 motor oil ........ only use transmission fluid if its automatic

yes, try replacing the fuse, if that doesn't work, then you perhaps have a short in the wires or a bad connection of some sort in the electrical system.
