Dogsled Racing

Leonhard Seppala had three main dogs. Togo, Fritz and Balto. Togo and Fritz were half brothers, and all three dogs were used as lead dogs at some point.

There are quite a few reasons for this.

1. Pure greed.

2. They are to lazy to work for what they would like to have.

3. To obtain money to satisfy a drug or alcohol addiction.

4. To feed themselves and their family, when they have no legal means of doing it.

5. To deliberately deprive the owner of what is his, out of spite.

6. For the kick it gives them at the risk of being caught.

7. Because they're too poor to buy something they want.

Those who do not have physical items are often envious, so in uncertain company you should not display something worth stealing -- hide it in your pocket or leave it in a safe place.

The law used to hang horse thieves. In some countries, the traditional punishment was to cut off a hand. Today there is less enforcement and fewer strict penalties. The law does not crack down on thieves and burglars. There is no monetary incentive for the city or state to catch crooks that they will then have to house and feed. They know that a thief is nothing more than another bum and they will not profit.

They say that you have 3 calendar days to return the vehicle as long as you haven't driven more than 250 miles.... and the car is in the original state you purchased it in.

And they are wrong. If you purchase any vehicle used or new you then own that vehicle and you cannot return it 3 minutes later let alone 3 days later. The cooling off period or buyers remorse laws do not apply to the purchase of any vehicle. That is nothing more than a myth that just keeps going and will not die. Look at it this way. The instant you buy a new car, pay for it, and it is titled, it is no longer a new car. It becomes a used car, and is worth much less than it was the instant you bought it. Same applies to a used car. It goes from a 1 owner or 2 owner to a 3 owner and the value goes down. You went to the lot of your own free will. You made the decision to purchase the vehicle of your own free will. And now you own that vehicle and no dealer is going to take it back. But if it is a used car, you can ask nicely and you might be in luck and the dealer will take it back and sell you another car. Does not hurt to ask.

Generically, all sleds are flat and used to coast down hills, but there are many different designs.

The Toboggan is a larger sled without runners developed by Native Americans. It is much larger than the Luge seen in Olympic sports.

The bobsled is a also seen in the Olympics and is also quite large, sometimes designed for four people.

Because back in 1720 the people thought that there would be no more racing, until in 1940 people in Alaska started racing again and they nevered changed the name .

the iditarod can be very dangerous at times.

each team averages at 16 dogs each which means over 1,000 leave anchorage for Nome.

no there can not be a second place winner the first place winner is the winner and everybody else are losers and do not have enough power to rule their dogs into running and it is not the dogs fault if they loose it is the pearsons fault

it all depends on the dogs they could go realy slow or realy fast.

Buck killed Spitz and when Perrault and Francouis went to give Sol-leks the lead position on the sled team, Buck stepped in front of them as if to say ' I killed Spitz, I should be lead sled dog' Perrault tried to hit Buck with a club but Buck dodged it and stepped in the lead position, and again Perrault tried to hit him again then after a long time of this Perrault finally gave in and gave Buck the position as lead sled dog.
