How much does a firefighters tanks weigh?
The common Scott Air-Pak can vary from 10-14 lbs. for a tank with 30 minutes of air and made from carbon fiber. A tank with 60 minutes of air can weigh up to 17 lbs. and a tank made from Aluminum can weigh up to 22 lbs.
Locate and mobilize resources
I would give your local fire department a call and see if they can give you a tour, they also might let you go on a ride along.
How does a metal fence affect police radar?
It depends on what the wavelength of the radar is and the size of the hole in say a chain link fence. If the holes are smaller then a quarter wavelength of the radar's RF carrier then it will appear as a solid surface to the radar. This may mean that the wire would have to be quite small to have this effect for radar speed guns. If the fence is just wire and posts then and the fence was perpendicular to the radar beam it is possible that a saturation could occur and this saturation would invalidate the Doppler measurement. However radar's tend to be set up to use only 1 quarter of the dynamic range to allow for saturations, such that they do not invalidate the measurements. To prove a case in law you would be making a technical case that either the radar cross section of your vehicle was smaller then that of another vehicle's at the same range travelling the same direction or that the measurement made was invalidated by a multi path effect, that included two vehicles Doppler motion. Perhaps the presents of the chain link fence with holes smaller then the 1 quarter wavelength provided the surface for the multipart effect and that the measurement from your vehicles passed to the fence with a larger cross section then the direct path, based on the shape of your vehicle. It is fairly typical that cars have a large cross-sectional area from the rear then from the front. You will need to get the technical parameter you would need to prove this and would mean some level of cooperation for the speed gun manufacture. However I think that speed guns tend to be quite high frequency as the aperture sizes are small so the beam width could be fairly narrow. You could try to make the case that the main lobe peak power point was miss-aimed at the fence rather then your car, therefore providing a higher gain for the indirect path rather then the direct path and that this path therefore included inter-modulations from the fence and other vehicles in that path that dominated the phase content from the direct path to and from your vehicle.
Pure energy. Fire is the resultant manifestation of a chemical reaction between a fuel [there are many different kinds] and Oxygen [usually in the air, but also if in pure form]. As a result of the chemical reaction, a great deal of energy is released in the form of heat and light. The visible portion of the "flames" is the result of glowing particles [carbon] which have not yet been exposed to, and mixed with , enough Oxygen to be at the right mixture [percentage of fuel and oxygen capable of combustion] to combust [burn]. If the perfect [stoichometric] mixture, for example, of pure Carbon and pure Oxygen are burned, the final products of combustion are light, heat, and Carbon Dioxide. Or if the stoichometric mixture is pure natural gas [Methane] and pure Oxygen, then the the products of combustion would be light, heat, Carbon Dioxide, and water vapor. All of our air polluton [from burning of fuels] results from the use of fuels which are contaminated with other elements and compounds.
What gcse's do you need to become a care assistant?
To become a Care Assistant you need Core GCSE's (Maths, English and Science) and in some cases you must have an NVQ Level 1 in Care.
I'm sure Bruce Springsteen, who popularized that phrase in a rockin' song by the same title, meant his desire for some girl was turning him into a hunka hunka burnin' love.
Who governs the Fire Department?
There are various forms of government over Fire departments. There is the State who is responsible for state property like forest. There are City fire department's, and their is Government fire departments like the Military Fire fighters (I was one) and their is Volunteer departments, like the ones in rural areas.
Most all of them are guided by the "NFPA" Codes & Standards (National Fire Protection Association)
How long are shifts as a firefighter?
This varies by the department you are work for. The most common shift for payed firefighters is 24/48.
24/48 means 24 hours on duty, and 48 hours off duty. The reason it is so long is because it is one of the most stressful occupations.
What does the fire department use air support for?
* Spotters and observers are used to observe a wildfire, weather conditions, and ground operations and to direct ground forces to the main body of a fire without endangering peoples' lives. * Aircraft are generally employed by the Forest Service and a few community fire departments to aid in controlling and extinguishing forest and wild fires using water or fire retardant chemicals. * Airplanes can be used to drop smokejumpers or equipment near remote fires. * Helicopters can be used to rappel or ferry firefighters, equipment or supplies to or from difficult or remote terrain, or to rescue victims. * In urban fire departments, "air support" can refer to the equipment and supplies used to replenish the air tanks used by firefighters for breathing or for operating other equipment such as pneumatic jacks or air tools.

Employees of political subdivisions; volunteer firefighting activity
Sec. 10.5. (a) This section does not apply to an employee of the state subject to IC 4-15-10-7.
(b) This section applies to an employee of a political subdivision
who:
(1) is a volunteer firefighter; and
(2) has notified the employee's employer in writing that the employee is a volunteer firefighter.
(c) The political subdivision employer may not discipline an employee:
(1) for being absent from employment by reason of responding to a fire or emergency call that was received before the time that the employee was to report to employment; or
(2) for leaving the employee's duty station to respond to a fire or an emergency call if the employee has secured authorization from the employee's supervisor to leave the duty station in response to a fire or an emergency call received after the employee has reported to work.
(d) The political subdivision employer may require an employee who has been absent from employment as set forth in subsection (c)(1) or (c)(2) to present a written statement from the fire chief or other officer in charge of the volunteer fire department at the time of the absence indicating that the employee was engaged in emergency firefighting or emergency activity at the time of the absence.
(e) An employee who is disciplined by the employer in violation of subsection (c) may bring a civil action against the employer in the county of employment. In the action, the employee may seek the following:
(1) Payment of back wages.
(2) Reinstatement to the employee's former position.
(3) Fringe benefits wrongly denied or withdrawn.
(4) Seniority rights wrongly denied or withdrawn.
An action brought under this subsection must be filed within one (1) year after the date of the disciplinary action.
As added by P.L.49-2004, SEC.1.

How do you get firefighter awards in the sim's 3 ambitions?
Just keep going to work and it will happen automatically. Also, it helps to keep all your stats up and not to be late to work.
Is a firefighter part of agiculture?
No. Firefighters are civil servants, or public service personel who deal with fire incidences in any setting, be it rural or urban. Firefighters are not for agriculture only. But, they are called out to a farm if a barn, a haystack or a house is burning, or if a farmer needs rescuing after being trapped in equipment some how. All municipalities and rural counties have fire departments in case such incidences occur.
Do you have to pay a bill when firefighters put out a fire in your home?
You already have. Part of your taxes goes for "police and fire protection" in most cities, towns and villages.
Can Smokey Bear attend the funeral of a firefighter?
smokey bears a cartoon not a bear that will randomly show at a funeral
Should firefighters get water from a standpipe from the floor below?
In my opinion, yes. For safety, you should always have a water supply established before entering into a hazard area. In this case, if you are in a building with a standpipe and you are entering into a fire, you should have a charged line with enough hose to operate on the fire floor.
What are the 3 main things that a firefighter needs to put out a fire?
i think...
water hose
fire extinguisher
sand
CO2 Gas
Foam
just a guess :)
