Fish that don't sleep at night?
For starters, fish don't sleep in general. Fish go into a resting period and usually that has to do with the place the sun is in or if it is a fish in a tank, whether the lights are off or on.
Secondly, some fish move all day and night to keep away from predators and to insure water is passing over there gills. A fish will move while resting, when they do they are moving slowly and lower in the tank. If you have a few small fish they will follow each other and wake each other up. (Hardy fish are the best ones).
Lastly, fish are great pets for people who are half commited pet owners!
Treat them well

He's very definitely male as is Zippy, although he does have a rather effeminate character. But their are several clues as to his maleness such as the Rainbow unbroadcasted Christmas tape. Where George says " I haven't got a big one but I like to play with it". Pearson the current copyright holders to Rainbow has done a very good job in cracking down on sites hosting the video but it is still about. Other examples are the Rainbow version of "It's Raining Men" where it is made quite clear that George is male.

What is schooling and how does it help fish?
schooling is lots of the same kind of fish that all live together and its helps them because they can warn each other if there is an enemy approaching. There are several reasons why schooling might help fish, most of which are related to predator avoidance. One is possibly the reason given above. Second, schooling gives the school of fish the appearance that it is a larger organism, which might deter some predators. Third, schooling makes predation more difficult. Predators often key in on a single individual for s successful kill. If there are many moving together, it makes it more difficult for the predator to focus on one prey animal, generally improving survival of the entire group. There may also be some energetic reasons why fish school as it may reduce the drag in the water for any individual fish.
A fish can get a cut in many ways, from a toy castle or object put into the fishbowl or wherever you are keeping the fish. It may also come from the small rocks you can find in where you are keeping your fish. If it is not a pet fish, a 'wild fish' it may have gotten into a tussle with another fish, or something in the ocean or lake may have cut it. If your pet fish has a cut, i would recommend taking it to a vet, before anything worse happens from it.
