The item used under the shower pan to create the slope for the drain is called a "shower pan liner" or "shower pan membrane". It is typically made of PVC or CPE (chlorinated polyethylene) and is installed over the subfloor and around the drain to create a waterproof barrier.
The liner is then sloped towards the drain using a combination of techniques, such as sand or mortar beds, pre-sloped foam panels, or adjustable slope systems. The choice of method depends on the specific requirements of the installation and the installer's preference.
Once the liner is in place and sloped properly, the shower pan can be installed on top of it, and the tile or other finish material can be applied. Proper installation of the shower pan liner is crucial for ensuring that water drains properly and does not seep into the subfloor or surrounding areas, causing damage or mold growth.

It depends on what you want it square to. Do you want it square against the far wall or the wall it butts up to? You can lay out the first row and measure it to the existing wall, adjusting the row so that you have the same measurements on each end. If you are looking to get an even starting row, law out your first row and slide it against the wall the best you can. Take a pencil and run it along the baseboard markign your row as you go. Cut at the line and your first row will be flush to the wall. If this helps great, if not e-mail me and I will see what I can do. cholbach@yahoo.com
AnswerYou might want to make sure you are laying the laminate square to the room and not one wall in particular. If you use a wall that is not square as your starting point your floor could go start to angle slightly and this would become noticable as you stand back and look at it. I would suggest that you cut your first row of flooring to correspond with any imperfections in your wall. A bit more time consuming but very worth it in the long run.
just start on your longest outside wall, and make sure you use quarter inch shims to keep it from butting the wall. you can also cut a piece in half and nail it to the wall if the base is removed, for your spacing

No!
It is not so difficult.
Laminate flooring is a beautiful, low maintenance, long-lasting flooring. There are several simple steps that you can take to keep your laminate flooring clean and to ensure that you get many years of service from it. Simply dust mop or vacuum with a soft brush or wood floor accessory to keep your laminate floor clean from dust, dirt or grit. A damp cloth or mop can be used without damage to the laminate flooring panels, but do not use excessive water. Dry the floor thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Blot up spills or water from wet feet or footwear immediately with a clean, dry cloth, sponge, or paper towel. Do not allow excess liquid to remain on the surface of your laminate floor. Do not use soap-based detergents, abrasive cleaners, or combined “clean and shine” products on your laminate floor. Do not use steel wool or other scouring pads that may scratch laminate panels. Do not wax or polish your laminate flooring. Do not steam clean or use chemicals that may damage the laminate flooring surface. For stubborn spots or stains on laminate flooring use acetone or nail polish remover on stubborn substances such as tar, asphalt, paint, or oil. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth. How much does a carpet layer or tile installer make?
First of all - installers are paid per sq/ft and rates depend on the product they're installing. I've been an installer for 10 years and I've never earned less than 75,000 a year. and I know guys that earn 150,000 a year. 10-20% goes to supplies. and the guys that make 150,000 a year often have one or two apprentices working for them that they pay about 20K a year.
Right now laminate installers earn about 2.00/sf and they install about 600 to 800 sf a day. I don't know any installer that installs less than 1500 sf a week. and the guys that do that, only work two or three days a week.
Top earners are Tile guys. most of them earn +90K if they keep a 9-5 work day, 5 days a week.
It's one of the lesser known trades. if you don't believe me, go to your nearest flooring store and ask them. it is a 2 year apprenticeship with an experienced installer, or there are some trade schools that are offering the training formally. this is not necessary, but if you can't find an installer to take you on, this is the way to go.
How much does it cost to install carpet?
It depends on the level of service being provided. For new construction no furniture to move or old flooring to remove, prices in the Northeast are approximately 65 cents per square foot. For replacing residential carpet where the installers are moving furniture and ripping up old carpet prices are approximately $1.00 a square foot. If you are considering purchasing the highest quality carpet, plan to budget for at least $4.50 to $5.50 per square foot. Prices may vary throughout the country and in other countries. Also the brand of carpet and store that is selling the certain carpet will change the price, most likely.
What is the best way to remove paint lines from concrete floors?
It depends on whether it is a water (latex) based paint or a oil based paint. If it is oil based paint it may not come out, but if it is a water (latex) based paint use 'Goof Off' or other latex paint removers with a wire brush. I have used 'Muriatic acid' on some concrete appications.

How much does a 6 x 6 ceramic tile weigh?
Not sure how exact you neeed to be, but the thickness & the density would be unknowns from your question & they will both impact the answer.
A 6X6 wall tile will be less than floor tile & thick tile likely more than thinner. But if you use 8-10 ounces per 6X6 floor tile you will be very close. Add thinset & grout & still more variables crop up.
That is if it is really ceramic, travertine, porcelain or Saltillo would all be different too.
Can you apply polyurethane to laminated flooring?
If you mean an oil based polyurethane, no, it will dry too hard and will chip off over time and normally isn't meant for exterior work. A better option would be to use a 100% acrylic clear polyurethane, paint or solid stain. They are adhesive enough to adhere to vinyl fencing or decking and will flex during freeze/thaw cycles.

How do you remove rust stains from ceramic tile?
If you put a whole jar of Tang in a rusty dishwasher and run a full cycle the dishwasher comes out bright as new! Perhaps make a paste of Tang and water and scrub-brush it onto the rust stains.
Rust Stains are easy to STOP before they START. Homeowners, all over the Country, who pump their sprinkler water from a lake, pond or canal are faced with the chance of getting rust stains on their house, driveway, patio and plants. Iron particles in the water are heavy so they tend to settle closer to the bottom. If your water intake is close to the bottom of the lake, pond or canal, then you are sucking in a higher concentration of iron and you can expect to see rust on your house. The simple solution is to float your water intake closer to the surface. This is why you will see duck and geese decoys floating behind many houses in South Florida.
An illustration of this problem, and solution, can be seen at:
