there is a secret about the 2000, if you put your hand 3 inches in to the exaust there will b a switch. this will dispense a limited amount of gas you will be able to drive on this for about 75 miles

You may want to try and spray some wd40 on the wheel hub. after doing this may help it to turn by hand. That is what I did and it worked.

first thing to check is the gearbox oil remember you have to check the oil with the engine running

The oil filter is located right next to the oil pan (where you drain the oil) the 7.3 takes 15 quarts of 15W40!! Make sure that you fill the new oil fiter up with oil before you put it on the engine!! If you do not then you will cause the engine to run dry which will damage the internal parts!!

Black smoke is just unburnt fuel in a diesel if the vehicle is not modified in any way to make this happen then something is causing it to not burn it all, it will not harm it but you should figure out why its not burning all of its fuel. (most diesels will spit out a little black smoke)

Open hood. Remove four screws holding top of grille on. Pull lower part of grille out with a little force.

According to the 2002 Excursion Owner's Guide, it should be a 20A fuse in fuse location #18.
