Could be several reasons - simplest one is that the gas cap was not screwed down tightly enough. Make sure the cap is tightened down and then drive the car for a day or two until the computer re-sets itself. If the light doesn't go out then continue looking for other causes having to do with the car's emission system. (i.e. - PCV valve needs cleaning/replacing - one of the hoses is plugged or kinked, etc, etc.

The best way for removal is to wiggle the sensor while pulling upwards. This speed sensor is known to break during removal, if it does it will have to be drilled out to remove the broken piece.

A special tool called a BFH is needed. Any good mechanic will have one on hand.

For the 2000 through 2004 models, there are usually four bolts holding the light unit in place. I say usually because some years I have encountered only have three; missing the one underneath the bumper on the side. Either it fell out over time or there was never one there in the first place.

I find it easier to remove the whole light unit even if I am only changing the bulb as my hand is too fat and my arm won't bend right.

Note: Even though the 2005-07 models share the same basic body style, the headlight units were changed to incorporate the turn signal within it, so I am not sure if these instructions will work.

The only thing missing is the 4th bolt underneath the car on the sides, one for each headlight unit. Once you have done everything in the video and the headlight still won't pop out, lay on the ground on the side of the car, forward of the front tire, and look under the fender above the side marker light. You will need a 10mm box wrench as this is a small space...not enough clearance for a ratchet unless you have one of those box wrenches with the ratchet inside.

As a side note, these headlights can be purchased for less than $35 apiece, bulbs included, so if you have cloudy and yellowing units you can replace them easily. I have found that using that cleaning compound to try taking out the yellowing doesn't look like new and in a year they will look worse than before you cleaned them.

I am presently going through the samething. Try changing the trans fluid and filter, it is most times recommeded after 100,000 miles.

there are two pins located behind the headlamp assemblyon the metal brace behind it. just remove those, and the whole assembly comes out. you can then take the bulbs out. you will need to realign the assembly though. all this is mentioned in the owner's maual if this didn't help. manual shouldn't be expensive to buy. look on eBay for those.

Passanger Side and Drivers Side Bulb Changes

There are two keepers just behind the grill, between the grill and the battery on the passenger side. These keepers look like little flat tabs that stick up, just pull them up and take them off and then the whole assembly will fall out. The only thing holding the assembly in place are the two tabs that hold the top of the assembly and two tabs that hold the bottom. The bottom two tabs just slide in. When you look at the drivers side, that assembly fits the same way.

I had never disassembled the headlight assembly before and it took me about 45 minutes to figure it out and change the passenger side bulb, after being led astray by the kid at O'Reilly's. The second bulb, on the drivers side, took about 5 minutes.

You don't need any tools to change the bulbs.

You will need to remove the gas tank.

It depends on what you mean by "seized". Often that means the engine ran out of oil and the crankshaft has welded to the rod bearing... if that's the case you can either rebuild the engine, get a new engine or just buy another car.

Sometimes people think that because an engine stopped, it's "seized" when in reality it could be something far less ominous.

If the engine is truly seized you don't have many choices and they're all listed above. If it was something less serious than that, find out what's wrong and pursue an appropriate repair.

That is something that only the dealer can possibly access, depending on your system configuration, and disable using factory equipment to comunicate with the control module. I say "possibly" because it Amy or may not be a fuction tht can be turned off. It depends on the system configuration.

On a 2006 Ford Focus :

The engine oil filler cap is on the TOP of the engine , towards the passenger

side of the vehicle , on the TOP of the raised rear portion that covers the rear

camshaft ( I hope that makes sense , it's one of those things that is easier to

just point at and say " that's it there " )

Things to check first: Turn on the A/C control - open the hood and look at the compressor and observe whether or not the clutch is engaging (clicking on and off). If it isn't then check the fuse/electric relay that control the compressor. If the compressor operates but cycles rapidly (clicks on and off), that could be a sign of low refrigerant, have it checked. If these easy do-it-yourself checks are inconclusive then you need a mechanic.

hi all ford focus cars are front wheel drive unless you make it four wheel drive. now if you can find a old fod rs200 which is four wheel drive you can take the drive tran and put it under the focus as long as the wheel base is the same. have fun hope this helps you.focusfan24
