What do you do if the heat is not working on a Ford F-150?
Get the engine up to full temperature. Make sure the thermostat is working properly. If it is not providing hot water, replace the thermostat. If the thermostat is working properly, put your hand on both hoses going into and out of the heater core. Both should be hot. If only one is hot, the core is probably plugged and not passing the hot water though. If this is the case, the heater will not function properly. The heater core either needs to be back flushed until a good, steady stream of water passes through it or it needs to be replaced. If the heater core is working properly ( both heater hoses are hot), you may need to check the air blender door located under the dash behind the glove compartment. Take out the glove compartment box and see the cable that moves when you turn your heater control from hot to cold. The air blender box door may not be moving as far as it should to get just hot air. If that is the case, look where the heater control cable runs through a white part with a tab on top of it. Pull the white tab forward and move the red cartridge inside of it to the right one or two notches and release the white tab to lock it into place. Now try the heater cable by moving it to full heat and see if that improves the situation. It should provide hotter air from the heater.

Why is oil blowing onto the intake from the breather?
If the engine has a condition called "blowby", pressure will build up inside the crankcase and oil will blow out the breather. Blowby is best explained as exhaust gas leaking past the piston rings, into the crankcase. The exhaust gas has to go somewhere so it goes out the breather, and in the process picks up oil vapor and mist.
It's common among engines that have not been properly maintained or engines that have extremely high miles.
Poorly maintained engines build up sludge around the piston ring grooves causing the rings to become trapped. When that happens they can't flex and maintain contact with the cylinder walls and can't give an adequate seal.
If an air filter has not been changed properly or if no air filter has been used the rings can wear excessively and the cylinder walls can become "tapered", meaning that they too have worn. Again, this results in an inadequate seal.
I've had a 350 with 2 miles short of 200,000 with NO blow-by, and seen engines with even more. It's all in the maintenance. The 350 is a workhorse but it must be maintained. (the only reason it didn't make 200,000 miles is some *&*^ ran into me and totaled the truck.)
Will a 1990 Ford F-150 rearend fit a 2000 Ford F-150?
No. It is impossible because by 2000, Ford had already been through 2 more body style F-150s. Also, the 2000 has a different redisigned rear end than the 1990 models.
Now if they had the heritage model in 2000, then that should fit earlier, 1990 models.
battery need to be at lease 14 volts to be able to start

Why is oil in your antifreeze in your 7.3 diesel?
This is caused by the oil cooler has either internally cracked or the large o'rings have failed causing a mix. Now why doesn't it mix the other way you might ask. Well coolant is compressed to approx 15 psi at any given point. Low side oil pressure is around 50-60psi. That is why it is alway oil in the coolant and not coolant in the oil. Now if you have fuel in your coolant fuel pressure is about 55-60psi and coolant is again about 15psi coolant surrounds the injector cups and if they crack well you get fuel in your coolant. Which one has failed?? That's a little more involved. Hope this helps.

Which is better 390 V8 or 460 V8?
Depends on what you are using it for. I have three 460's and when coupled with a C6 trans, produce great tourque but get worse gas mileage. In a truck a 460 is the way to go. 78_ford_dude
