Yes, hard-boiled eggs are actually very good for pregnant or nursing mothers as it provides them with extra protein to better nurse their pups. Young gerbils could use it as well. Always monitor a gerbil closely when giving it new foods to make sure it reacts well.

They probably would eat it but I can't recommend it. Giving gerbils food that is mostly water is liable to give them diarrhoea and they can become dehydrated very quickly when poorly. Try Cheerios, cheese, dry toast or apple for a nice treat instead.

The best way to take care of a hamster:

FOOD: Give them a good nutritious mix of pellets and seeds, the best seed pack brand would be fiestamax.

WATER: Give them fresh water about every 3-5 days.

CAGE: Clean it once a week, with new shavings, and arrange the cage exactly how it was before so the hamster won't be stressed.

TOYS: Give them a good variety of chew toys, like a limestone tube, or a mineral

stone, maybe blocks of wood, or apple tree sticks. You can get these all at a pet store in the hamster/small pet section.

CARE: Be nice to the hamster, to coax it into your hand, have a yogurt treat, or some seeds, and put your hand at the bottom of the cage and have your hamster sniff it. if it hops onto your hand, eating the treat, slowly lift your hand up to pet and hold the hamster.

Keep in mind that a hamster doesn't always like to be held, so hold them at the

best time you think is possible.

Most gerbils take time to drain down a bottle of water. They usually drink at nighttime and only a little bit. After all, gerbils are desert creatures. If they still don't drink, try changing the type of water in the dessert they get all the liquid they need from food.

I fed my 4 adult gerbils barbecued corn on the cob. They enjoyed it and there were no negative effects. But I didn't give them very much. Just a small 1 inch section of the cob. They didn't eat it all, and i removed the uneaten portion the next morning.

I buy the corn on the cobs, dried, from the pet shops. The package says you can pop them and then give it to them that way if you want.

1.I strongly believe hamsters hate the smell of HALLS(the medicine).My hamster reacts to it more than a simple blow without the aroma of HALLS.This is because they have sensitive noses and the medicine is really strong.

2.Getting surprised.Pokeing the hamster while caught off guard or cleaning itself can give it a heart attack or just put them into full of scare.So it's best to put your finger infront of them and let them know your there.The reason they get really shocked is because they are prey animals.Their main reason out in the wild is to survive.so pokeing the hamster is like something grabbing it.

3.Getting squeeze real hard.I'm sure that if you got squeezed real hard in a giant hand, you will too bite the hell out of the person.

4.Baths.Don't ever bathe your hamster using water.Just find sand baths that they can use.It's better for them.Never let water rush down while their in a sink.It can make them scared of it.If water gets into their ears, bad move.

5.Neglect.Neglecting your hamster is a NO GO.If your not gonna spend time with your hamster, then you should give it to a person who will affectionate it.There's no point in having a hamster if your gonna let it sit in the corner not played with.

Never give gerbils brownies, if a dogs digestive system disagrees with chocolate it can hurt them and even kill them so i suppose it might be dangerous for a gerbil too. But cant you find any special chocolates buttons found in pets stores for your gerbil instead?

When hamster gets out it's cage it will either walk around and explore, or run around. Depending on what type of hamster you have. Also be careful its not up high because most hamsters jump off ledges. If your hamster escapes without you knowing search n all the little hidey holes you can think off pick up any mouse traps, rat poison ect quick. Close doors out of that room and TREAD CAREFULLY!

I think it is hamsters because only 2 people out of 20 in my class have guinea pigs, but 10 out of 20 have hamsters!

Guinea pigs and hamsters both make great pets, but the hamster is more popular. This doesn't mean it is a better pet, its just more commonly sold, owned and bred. -Joanna K.

well...a two to three foot cage is recommended for one gerbil and if you two most likely a three foot cage or a four foot cage would be best

to make sure you don't spend to much money ...make sure you have two of the same kind of gerbil..boy and boy ...girl and girl because when gerbils have babies they have alot and then you need a bigger cage or multiple cages. =P

I've had good success with rewarding successive attempts. For example teaching them to get into my hand I started with giving a treat when they came to the cage door. Then they had to touch my fingers for a treat. Then they had to get into my hand for a treat. Once they got that far they pretty much had that trick down.

from the age of 5 months I used to play with my little girl (Dua)esp during feed times; I would say 'Where's Dua', 'Where's Dua' and pretend to look everywhere for about half a minute; and then finally look at her and say 'there's Dua' - that I think is what taught her her name. she is now 8+ months and I still do it everyday. Now when she is playing I say 'Dua' and either she answers with a sound (if she is sitting where I can't see her) or turns and looks at me.

Gerbils are actually the cross between a mouse and a rat.

Pet mice should be kept at room temperature, depending on where you live in the world. Obviously colder environments may need some warming device and for warmer areas, you can freeze a small bottle of water and place that in their enclosure. Personally i keep my mice in a well ventilated room that is a comfortable 23 Celsius - 28 Celsius. I would also suggest buying a small cage thermometer so you can track the temperature. You will notice they are more active in warmth and vice versa. Pet Mice Rule!

You should keep the gerbil in a cage that isn't accessible by the cat.

You should not leave a mouse unattended outside it's cage; this is dangerous as it could get injured, escape or be attacked by something (like another pet). Inside their cage, a mouse can be left unattended for any length of time as long as the cage is clean and the mouse has enough food and water. A mouse should not be left alone too long if it is by itself (in it's cage) - mice are soical animals and therefore need the company of other mice.

Youll definitely will want a running wheel that's like 3 also.

Special food can be bought for 8 dollars or you can just give leftovers lol they arent too picky.

So for feeder rat + 13 dollar cage + 4 for shavings + 3 for wheel + 8 for special bag food(optional) = $30. Of course this will vary but this is just the JUST of it. Hoped this helped.

I got my mouse for MUCH CHEAPER! I got mine for 15 dollars with everything but I already had the cage from my guinea pig... poor Clyde T_T
