What you do when someone is haunting you or your home, you get something called sage. Sage is a Native American substance that bans the evil or good presence haunting your home. If Sage does not work, you need a Catholic priest to come in your home and perform and exorcism The longest ever reported exorcism has lasted over 3 hours! Some spirits are good that cant harm you in anyway and they will cross over to the other side very easily and then there is evil spirits that are a deadly haunting and may take a very long time for them to cross over. My wisdom to you is never live or bye a home that is old.

I learned in my Tibetan Buddhism class about those born into the 'hungry ghost' realm. Existing as a ghost, however, is a temporary situation in the round of rebirth (cyclic existence, reincarnation, samsara) as a result of bad karma from a past lifetime. Everything is impermanent, even the afterlife. Tibetan Buddhists believe that hungry ghosts can live for hundreds of years, during which they suffer from hunger and thirst. "Hungry ghosts are obstructed from getting food and water by internal obstructions such as horribly malformed bodies, by external obstructions such as being born into a place that has no food or water or into a place where, even if there is nourishment they are kept from it by guards, or by both internal and external obstructions." The main cause of being reborn as a hungry ghost is an action of desire such as stealing or miserliness. So basically, I guess ghosts may spend their afterlives desiring but not receiving while wallowing in their misery. -bayk

In my opinion,most ghosts aren't scary. They're just human, but dead. However, they can still be scary. First of all, some ghosts were horrible, cruel people in life and stayed that way after their death. Those are the ghosts who are more likely to hurt people. What makes that worse is that most people cannot see them nor can they kill them. Also the ghosts that aren't even human, aka daemonic, are definitely worth being scared of, but they are least likely to encounter. Unless things are really creepy, don't worry about ghosts. Like I said, they're mostly human.

I may be laughed off of WA for this, but there is a story in the Bible about women who did just that. They weren't referred to as "ghosts," however. Read it for yourself in Genesis chapter 6. Here is verse 4:

Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

The term "sons of God" is used in other verses in the Bible to refer to angels. Demons, according to the Bible, are fallen angels. Genesis 6 indicates that one of the reasons that God sent the flood that Noah survived on the ark, was because of these illicit relationships that these women were having with demons.

What humans now call "ghosts" the Bible calls demons or evil spirits. They are not disembodied humans, they are angels who sinned and are now following Satan.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying a house can be possessed, but I can tell you that poltergeists through things around, open doors or shut them, and do all sorts of crazy things that could look like the house in Monster House. But poltergeists cant make a house have a face or teeth like in the movie. A poltergeist could drag you back into the house, but the house itself wont move to eat you.

They don't hide in dark places, you see them in dark places because it's easier to see radiation emitted from them in the dark.

Yes,ghosts are always around,and always see-able. But our senses are closed off to the unknown,so it is difficult to see them. They could try to contact us,but we could not want anything to do with them,or our minds are o afraid to open up. Ghosts do not appear to anyone, ever. They are not real. If you think you are seeing a ghost, you are mistaken. People are often saddened by the loss of a loved one or they are bored and wish so much for something supernatural that they will believe in them. Depending on the level of energy (like if the spirt doesn't know its dead, it will have a lower energy than that of an angry one) some you can't feel at all while others can actually touch you, and it feels like an alive person is.
