2003 sierra will not idle after replacing the battery?
Most newer cars and trucks engine computers need to "re learn " how to idle after having the battery disconnected. You do this by starting the engine and allowing it to idle for 5 - 10 minutes without revving the engine. It will eventually learn on it's own if you do not follow this procedure , it just takes a little longer.

How do I fix the tailgate on a 2004 GMC Sierra that won't latch?
On my 2002 avalanche, I was told to take the handle off and inside there are to blue or green clips with threaded rods in them. I just popped open the clips with a small screwdriver, then moved the rods out a few threads and reclip. IT WORKED GREAT MY TAILGATE WOULD POP OPEN WHEN I HIT A BUMP BUT NO MORE!!
How do you know if your 2005 Jeep Liberty has a tow package installed?
You need the factory build sheet to tell you everything that was installed on your car when it was built. Go to this Chrysler customer service website. Fill out the form and they will email you a build sheet. http://www-5.jeep.com/wccsapp/universal/J/index.jsp?appStr=wccs&titleStr=Contact+Jeep&familyStr=brand&franchise=J&actionURL=%2Fwccs%2Fbrand_forms%2Fus%2Fwebform.jsp&promotion=null&category=U
I have been studying this problem for weeks for my 2001 Tahoe. Idle issues seem to be a common problem for the 5.3L, but most of them are quick and inexpensive.
Here is what I would recommend checking:
1. Remove the intake cover and clean the throttle body with carb/choke cleaner.
2. Replace the spark plugs....(THEY NEED TO BE AC DELCO IRIDIUM) The 5.3L is VERY particular about this!! I have been searching forums etc. and many of us have been using the NGK Iridium and solved the prob by switching back to the AC Delco plugs and wires. Some have said the Delcos are made by NGK,which may or may not be true, but they are not the same plug. NGK is actually slightly lighter weight and slightly shorter. (Don't believe me?.... Check with your auto parts store and compare them side by side) DO NOT gap the plugs. You will ruin them and the pre gap of .40 is the new standard (not .60).
3. Remove and clean the EGR valve. There is only 2 bolts and a electrical connection. (Recommended every 60K miles)
4. Check the fuel pressure regulator. Remove the vacuum line while the engine is running and wait. If fuel starts leaking out it will need replaced. Be patient.. small leaks can take a couple mins to show up.
Still having probs? Check for an idle air control valve located in the throttle body. Remove and clean off the carbon. My Tahoe has one but I am not so sure about an 05.. I think they were removed from the newer models.
After that it gets more expensive... it could be a sign that the fuel pump is going or worse the intake gasket is failing. Best of luck to you.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 86 gmc pickup?
If you have the 305 or 350 engine with the Quadra-jet carb, the fuel filter is located inside the carb. Follow the fuel line from the fuel pump on the side of the engine up to the carb, at the inlet to the carb you will find a large fitting. Remove the line from the fitting, and the filter is just sitting in the opening. You do not need any special tools for this. --there could be a filter before that along the line somewhere. if there is it will most likely be a little metal canister

How do I Remove headlight assembly 1992 gmc sierra?
The entire front grill must be removed, by removing (8) 7mm screws, parking light assemby must be removed to reach 7mm screw behind it. There are( 4) T15 maybe T10 screws holding each assembly. Two of the 7mm screws holding grill are in center one just above bumper and other towards the top, you'll need an extension in order to reach them through grill. Unplug parking lights and lift grill up and out to remove. You will now be able to see the (4) 10mm screws holding headlight assembly in place.

Coolant leaking around valve cover1996 5.7gmc left side?
coolant leaking from around the valve cover can mean two diffrent things. ether the intake gaskets need to be changed or the head has a crake in the water jacket and need to be replaced. this also would involve removal of the intake and the heads. make sure the coolant it leaking around the intake before you go that far it might simply be the quick disconect were on of the heater hoses gos in to the intake on the right side of the motor coolant leaking from around the valve cover can mean two diffrent things. ether the intake gaskets need to be changed or the head has a crake in the water jacket and need to be replaced. this also would involve removal of the intake and the heads. make sure the coolant it leaking around the intake before you go that far it might simply be the quick disconect were on of the heater hoses gos in to the intake on the right side of the motor

How do you change a high beam bulb in a 1991 GMC sierra?
You have to take the grille off of the truck. Its easy just four screws on the top, one about center of the grille and three clips on the bottom. Then there are four bolts holding the headlight assembly on, remove them take the entire assembly off and you will be able to get tho the bulb. My 1991 GMC also has a hidden one top center in grill, One bottom center in the grill and one behind each parking light. Not a lot of fun after all, it had to be wiggled and coaxed into clearing the bumper and head lights too. Couple of hours to put new assymblies in.
Where is the blower resistor located on a 1998 Chevy Truck?
If you take off the glovebox and look on top of the heatercore box, it's facing down into the box. There's a big plug of wires into it. The 2 screws are kinda hard to get at though. I haven't taken mine out yet to replace. But I have figured out because I only have high and no low or med speeds. It is the cause. I replaced the heater fan motor first because it sounded like a helicopter but before i did, i lost low and med speed in the fan. After replacing the switch in the dash, I replaced the relay, located near the resitor behind the glove box. So I guess it has to be it. My truck is the 98chev W/T. Good luck !!!
