Knock sensor location 1989 suburban?
It is screewed into the passenger side of the engine block, JUST IN FRONT OF THE STARTER. You do not need to remove the starter to see it.
How do you install a flywheel on a gm 98 suburban fwd k1500?
You will need to remove the transfur case first and then remove the transmission
Then just take the bolts out of the fly-wheel on the back of the engine and replace it with the new fly-wheel and then put everything back together.
This is a major job if your not a mechanic. You may want to take it to a shop.
I'm having the same problem. Relays working fine and door locks have some movement, but do not lock or unlock all the way. Hope we find out the problem.

Why is the Gas gauge not working in 1998 suburban?
Nine times out of ten it is your sending unit located in your gas tank. This is not to difficult to replace yourself. I don't think you need to be a certified mechanic to change this out yourself. Follow the instructions on the new sending unit and you should fine. While you are in the tank if you haven't replaced your fuel pump you might as well. I have made the mistake of not replacing the pump when I replaced my sending unit and two months later I was back in the tank replacing the pump.
Fuel pumps and sending unit together range from $150.00 - $290.00

What year trannys will work in a 1996 suburban with a 4l60 in it now?
I have an answer for your question. However, as I am not a mechanic, an ounce of caution is advised.
That said, I have a 1999, K1500 (4X4) Suburban which had a 4L60 in it when it recently took a crap on the highway. I spent some 6+ months (& $5+K) replacing it so I have more than a little experience here.
GM changed the body style of our Sub's in late 1999 to the new (girlish) footprint. Therefore, you'll be looking for a transmission that is/was in a Sub between 1998 and early 1990 production dates.
I looked, shopped, priced, etc. and finally wound up putting a Allison 4L65 in mine. ($5500±) and with a slightly modded SB350, can almost raise the front tires off the ground from a stop. Smoke the tires? Oh yeah, there's smoke & rubber chunks flying everywhere. Fact is, while I like the smell of burning rubber, it is getting to be kind of a drag since my 33" BFG T/A's cost approx $150.00 each!
Good luck and good rodding!
How do you change front brake pads on a 1999 GMC Suburban?
The best way is to pressure was the entire underside of the vechical to get all the slat & sand off before you work on it. No need to have all the rust and salt falling into your eyes as you work.
Spray averything down with Fluid Film to loosen any rust or corrosion, let it sit for a few days.
then jack up the truck, block the axcels for it does not fall and crush you while you work.
Buy the brand new set of brake pads from me that I dont need because I sold my GMC/Chevys and just install them.

AnswerBought a Haynes repair manual from Auto Zone for $17.00 and with a few questions to a friend, I succesfully changed the pads. Really simple once you understand how.You need fuel, spark & timing as the basics to start your motor. (there are other factors, but you need to look at the basic 3)
1.Check to see if you have fuel coming out of both injectors into the throttle body.
2. Check to see if you have spark. This is usually done with a spark tester
3. Once you have verified fuel & spark 100%, then you need to look at timing.
