What is the value of a Model 1894 Winchester with serial number 60877 in 30-30 with a smooth barrel and full magazine retaining about 85 of the original finish?

By smooth barrel, I assume you mean round instead of octagon? That serial number is pretty early, and during those early years Winchester would provide a number of special order features if requested. Any of these features can mean a lot more value, especially in relatively high condition guns. Your gun needs to be personally evaluated by someone knowledgable of early Winchester 1894's. I mean literally knowing how far the magazine plug screw is supposed to be from the muzzle. Values could go from $500 to several thousand depending on features. sales@countrygunsmith.net

Why do animals walk on all fours like babies?

Not all animals walk on all fours. Humans are animals too!

Those animals that do walk an all fours do so because it is an efficient and stable means of movement. The earliest land creatures were fish or frog like and "crawled" along the ground. Later on animals evolved that larger and more powerful legs. Animals like cheetahs can run very fast on four legs.

The ancestors of human beings walked mainly on all fours - like modern gorillas and chimpanzees do. We're not sure exactly why human beings evolved to walk on two legs, but it has caused back problems for human beings because we have inherited a spine that was originally designed for four-legged creatures.
