Why did the north not need slave labor?

That is a slightly vague question that can be due to many reasons. One of those reasons is because the north became more industrialized rather than dependant on slave labor. There were a lot of workers in the north that needed jobs that couldn't let slavery take over. Many New Englanders believed slavery was morally wrong. The Potato Famine caused many immigrants to come to the United states and even though they were looked down upon, they still needed jobs too, and they very well couldn't compete with free slave labor in the south. This accounts for the Irish immigrants. There was something that happened in Germany that caused a lot of them to come over. They released all of their prisoners in the United States with the promise that they would never return to the East. There are many more reasons where that came from, be more specific next time.

What were the reasons to partition Bengal in 1905?

Remaining highly controversial and debatable the political notion was expressed that Indian subcontinent, specifically British India, contained three political and ethnic communities. These were from a Hindu, Muslim and the Raj. Based on these reasoning's a further and even more divisive theory was proposed that Hindus and Muslims are somehow "distinct civilizations" necessitating a two state solution. This was despite the fact that the communities coexisted for more than a millennia across South and Central Asia and the Indian Ocean regions. The exit of the British in 1947 from India came at the cost of a costly political solution partitioning the Punjab and Bengal based on sectarian lines. What ensued thereafter was a bloodbath and the largest single human exodus in history. In 1971 Bengal (then part of Pakistan) was invaded by the Indian Army and with its withdrawal came the formation of Bangladesh. For note, the Indian states of Bengal and the Punjab were partly retained during the partition.

What does Meso Americans mean?

The term 'Meso-Americans' refers to the peoples of the lands from central and southern Mexico; down through Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua; and into Costa Rica. The term somewhat overlaps geographically with the designation Central America. But Panama is included, and Mexico excluded, as Central American countries. The first known use of the term was by Paul Kirchhoff. For the German ethnologist identified a unique area of high-achieving civilizations that shared astronomical interests, linguistic traits, and maize cultivation. He therefore wanted to differentiate the area's common culture from cultural developments to the north and to the south. And so he looked to the classical Greek 'mesos', for a term that would describe this 'middle' land that was 'intermediate' to, and distinct from, all else in the area.

Why is the construction of the Panama Canal considered one of the world's greatest engineering feats?

The Panama Canal is considered one of the greatest engineering feats simply because of the massive scale of the building project and its significance. For one thing, the canal was carved mostly by hand with the assistance of steam shovels which had really just been invented. The fact that humans and some machines were actually able to split two continents in half to create a shorter way to get around South America was what made it a real feat of engineering.
