Honda Element

The windshield fluid pump in a Honda Element is located behind the front fascia. You will need to remove the fascia and it is right there.

Most likely it's the bearing that sits on top of the strut. The strut is probably ok. This is a labor intensive job however.

It is behind the bottom glove compartment.

find the burnt out fuse and replace accordingly with the same or weaker: NEVER stronger.

Disconnect battery for 5 or more min. See if that works

Panel is right underneath the steering wheel shaft. Turn two little plastic catches and open it up.

Simple, get a spark plug wrench an have a go at it. This can be done an about five minutes.

It's in the under hood fuse box. Look on the right side of the engine just above and behind the air intake and air filter assembly. You should see a black plastic box with four clips. That's the fuse box.

take off the door, disconnect the electrical wires, and pop off a lot of plastic mount screw and basically strip oit down. Then remove the whole handle and with any luck, yours will come off after 3 hrs of work....like mine did today!

Note: the air conditioning coils (condenser radiator) are exposed on the front grill - clearly visible through the lower grill openings. Unlike practically any other vehicle, this radiator is not protected from sizeable flying rocks,etc. This has been the case at least through the 2007 model year. This helps protect the AC condenser.

The cap must have an arrow towards where to twist it and it could be bad sometimes to take off

the srs system is faulty due to a bad seat belt buckle. take your element to the dealer and have them replace it. there is no charge for this service.

Well,yes and no.Honda is made in the US,but all vital parts like engine and transmission is made in Japan which is a good thing.Advice-when you buying Japanese car,make sure that engine and transmission are made in Japan.It makes a big difference in reliability and longevity.

1. (SOME MODELS) LOCATE AND WRITE DOWN THE IGNITION INTERLOCK CODE WHICH MUST BE ENTERED THROUGH THE RADIO AFTER AN ELECTRICAL OUTAGE.

2. DISCONNECT BATTERY CABLES, POSITIVE SIDE FIRST.

3. REMOVE BATTERY BOX AND BATTERY

4. CLEAN AREA AROUND BATTERY CAVITY WITH BAKING SODA AND WATER, FLUSH THOROUGHLY. INSPECT AND CLEAN BATTRERY CLAMPS OF DEPOSITS, WIREBRUIUSG INNER SURFACES.

5. REPLACE BATTERY BOX AND BATTERY

6. APPLY PETROLEUM JELLY TO BATTERY POSTS

7. CONNECT GROUND CABLE

8. CONNECT REMAINING BATTERY CABLE

9. (SOME MODELS) ENTER THE INTERLOCK CODE FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE ON WWW.HONDA.COM.CA

Put your Element in neutral and disconnect the battery! Then get a good grip under the panel surrounding the gear shift, the radio and a/c. with a little prying it pops right off. Once you get this removed, you'll see four (maybe two if my memory is fuzzy) screws that hold the radio/cd player in place. After these are removed it slides right out. You'll have to unplug it from the antenna and other connectors, but its pretty straight-forward from there. You can also take this opportunity to change the display colors! Each tiny little led has a blue cover on it. Just get some tweezers and pull the little rubber covers off. Add a drop of acrylic or stained glass paint to each led in whatever color you choose and voila! Mine is red, rather than the boring Honda green-blue. Good luck. On my 2005 Element it goes like this. Turn off engine. Press and hold the Select/Reset button on the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch to on. Hold the button for about 10 seconds until the indicator light goes out.

behind the glove box open it and remove both stops on the sides, then hang it down, there is a box with a lid on it, remove it and they are in there. remember that the filter are directional, air flow is from top to bottom

I have a 2003 Element and just found out recently from a Honda shop that It has

a timing chain that does not need changing.
