What color of light do plants grow best in?
Most plants, due to photosynthesis, grow best under sunlight or artificial uv light like from flourescent light. You can play all day to find other light sources and colors but in simple terms, give a plant what it needs and it can amaze you.
Does boiling hot room temp. cold or ice water affect plant growth?
Boiling water can harm plant roots by damaging them due to excessive heat. Room temperature water is ideal for plant growth as it is easily absorbed by the roots. Cold or ice water can shock the plant, especially if it is a tropical plant not accustomed to cold temperatures.
What type of light is best for indoor plants?
So far with my science experiment the fluorescent grow light is working better than natural sunlight, but that could just be because of the weather (it's winter where i am right now) hopefully i shall continue this experiment over the summer to see any changes.
How often do you water house plants?
House plants generally need to be watered when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. This could range from about once a week to every two weeks, depending on the type of plant, its location, and the time of year. It's important not to overwater as this can lead to root rot.
Do plants grow slower in the winter?
Generally, plants do grow slower in the winter due to factors like lower light levels, shorter days, and colder temperatures. These conditions can affect their metabolic processes and slow down growth rates. However, some plants, like winter crops or evergreens, are adapted to grow during the winter season.
Do you water plants after a freeze?
You can water plants after a freeze, but it is much more important to make sure they are well-watered before the freeze. Most tissue damage occurs because of a lack of water inside the tissues, which then lose the heat energy from inside the cells (and the cells rupture when they freeze).
What is the structure of fern?
Ferns have roots, stems, and leaves. The leaves are called fronds and typically have a compound structure with leaflets. Ferns reproduce through spores, which are produced in structures called sporangia.

What substances in detergant will kill a plant?
The detergent itself. A detergent is a molecule with a polar head and a non-polar tail. In interferes with the cell membrane and makes the plant cell unable to control what crosses the membrane.
How does regular coke affect plant growth in a marigold?
coke basically sucks out the remaining water so most likely you will not get good results with growing marigolds with coke. Trust me, I did this for a science project, only a tiny little bit of the plant showed, and I planted three seeds in a soil pellet.
Will water temperature effect plant growth?
Yes it does. The hottest the water is, the fastest the plant will die. This needs a little explanation. As you know the roots under the ground are still weak and not strong at all. So the cells that made up the roots are still young. When you give hot water, it will kill it, because the roots can't hold the hot water. Yes. In a high school biology experiment it was discovered that lukewarm water is more conducive to growth than cold water. However hot water would damage the plant. == ==

However, if they were grown in a cold climate with frost/ snow they could only be treated as annuals unless they were protected.
They can be either depending on the species or variety.
Does land lose heat faster than water?
Soil is solid. Its molecules are close to one another so it heats faster. It also cools faster. Water is liquid. Molecules in liquids are farther apart so water heats more slowly............

What makes a plant die first salt or sugar?
Plants are more sensitive to salt than sugar. Salt can disrupt a plant's ability to absorb water and nutrients, leading to dehydration and ultimately death. Sugar, on the other hand, in moderate amounts, can actually provide energy for plants through photosynthesis.
What keeps plants crisper distilled water or tap water?
Tap water contains dissolved minerals that can help provide structural support to plant cells, while distilled water lacks these minerals. Therefore, tap water can potentially help plants stay crisper by providing more stability to their cells.
How do you take care of potted fern?
First, find the ideal location, which is preferably the northern side of the house. The northern side of any home is cooler and has mostly shade for the rest of the day. Potted ferns need soil that drains well, but can also retain moisture. Make sure the soil never gets dry.
