What advantages and disadvantages of Vector graphics?

Graphic design is seen as a skill in today's world because its creating art on the computer. You need to know how to manipulate and use programs like adobe photoshop, piant shop pro, adobe photo elements and more. The disadvantage is that less and less people are drawing and using more tradition tools like a pencil and paper. This causes people not to be as skilled in traditional artworks as they used to be. Being able to draw and paint are important to graphic design because if you can draw by hand you can easily take your drawn designs and convert them into digital media. Also, with traditional works you are creating the artwork, your not manipulating the computer to create art. In the end of the day graphic design is the artwork that you manipulated the computer to make, and therefore is not as valuable in say ( a museum) as traditional work.

Is there a way you can turn your pictures into a cartoon?

There are several different ways to turn a photograph into a cartoon. There are software programs that allow you to animate, and though I'm not an expert, I believe you can scan your photos and use them as a basis for animation. Another way is to draw a cartoon based on your photo. Animation is not as limited as photography by reality.

What laptop is best for graphic design and animation?

No cheap laptop will do graphics design very well. For Graphics Design I would purchase a Mac. Apple does graphics better than any Windows PC. The Apple MacBook will serve you well, and will cost you $999. This is the best graphics laptop you can get for under $1,000. Also no anti-virus or anti-spyware software is required. Everything you need will come pre-installed, short of the graphics program of your choice.

What are the disadvantages of vector graphics?

There are a few. Vector graphics are more "scalable" than raster graphics. By this, I mean you can draw a design that's six inches high, enlarge it to four feet high, and still have it look sharp. If you did that with a Photoshop file, the picture would become extremely jagged. Vector graphics' filesizes are smaller than raster graphics' filesizes. If I were to build a 12-inch square item at 60dpi, which is my standard resolution (you can get away with that if you're printing things that are to be viewed at a distance), and I did it in Photoshop, the file would be about 2MB. In Illustrator, it would be less than half that. I have a customer who gets pickups wrapped; I can do a whole pickup truck side in Illustrator in less than 20MB. That won't happen in Photoshop. Vector graphics tend to print faster than raster graphics do, and the prints are cleaner looking.

What are examples of raster?

Some examples of raster are:

  • Digital photographs, such as the ones taken by cameras or smartphones.
  • Satellite imagery, such as the ones used for mapping, weather, or environmental monitoring.
  • Digital art, such as the ones created by painting or drawing programs.

What are 2 programs used to create raster graphics?

Adobe Photoshop: This is a popular and powerful program that can edit, enhance, and manipulate raster images.

GIMP: This is a free and open source program that can perform various tasks such as photo retouching, graphic design, illustration, and more.

These are not the only programs that can create raster graphics, but they are some of the most widely used and recommended ones.

What can you do on GIMP2?

Some of the things you can do are:

  • Crop, resize, rotate, flip, and transform images.
  • Adjust the color, brightness, contrast, saturation, and other properties of images.
  • Apply filters, effects, and enhancements to images, such as blur, sharpen, noise, distortion, etc.
  • Create and edit layers, masks, channels, paths, and selections.
  • Draw and paint with different tools, such as brushes, pencils, erasers, gradients, etc.
  • Add and edit text, shapes, logos, icons, and other graphic elements.
  • Create and export animations in GIF or other formats.
  • Import and export images in various formats, such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PSD, etc.
  • Extend the functionality with plugins and scripts.
