What are quantitative techniques?
Many of the quantitative techniques fall into two broad categories: # Interval estimation # Hypothesis tests Interval Estimates It is common in statistics to estimate a parameter from a sample of data. The value of the parameter using all of the possible data, not just the sample data, is called the population parameter or true value of the parameter. An estimate of the true parameter value is made using the sample data. This is called a point estimate or a sample estimate. For example, the most commonly used measure of location is the mean. The population, or true, mean is the sum of all the members of the given population divided by the number of members in the population. As it is typically impractical to measure every member of the population, a random sample is drawn from the population. The sample mean is calculated by summing the values in the sample and dividing by the number of values in the sample. This sample mean is then used as the point estimate of the population mean. Interval estimates expand on point estimates by incorporating the uncertainty of the point estimate. In the example for the mean above, different samples from the same population will generate different values for the sample mean. An interval estimate quantifies this uncertainty in the sample estimate by computing lower and upper values of an interval which will, with a given level of confidence (i.e., probability), contain the population parameter. Hypothesis Tests Hypothesis tests also address the uncertainty of the sample estimate. However, instead of providing an interval, a hypothesis test attempts to refute a specific claim about a population parameter based on the sample data. For example, the hypothesis might be one of the following: * the population mean is equal to 10 * the population standard deviation is equal to 5 * the means from two populations are equal * the standard deviations from 5 populations are equal To reject a hypothesis is to conclude that it is false. However, to accept a hypothesis does not mean that it is true, only that we do not have evidence to believe otherwise. Thus hypothesis tests are usually stated in terms of both a condition that is doubted (null hypothesis) and a condition that is believed (alternative hypothesis). Well there should not be a sleve in the crank snout where the seal lip rides. If there is one, then the crank has been reconnditioned/replaced, or there was damage to the snout, previously. I will recommend leaving the sleave, or replacing it with a new one if it has obtained rotational damage from the seal lip. This happens usually due to oil starvation at the lip ridding area or from a hardenned seal. The sleves may be purchased at your local autoparts and only serve to go over the damaged grove that the seal duged in. If the seal was not leaking and one is replacing the seal as maintenance or timing chain r&r. then leave the sleave in place other that that remove damaged sleve and replace with new one..Hope this helps.. Will..:)
Why would the slip and TRAC light come on on a 1998 infinity Q45?
I am far from being an expert or quasi expert but I do own a 96 Q45 and experienced a similar problem. I was helped or given advice free of charge by my local Infiniti Service Adviser. The problem had to do with the anti-lock braking system and its electrical components. There are two fairly inexpensive relays under the hood that you should try replacing first. My cost for both relays was $48.50 from Infiniti of Scottsdale, Az. (1-800-955-9181). The relays are called the ABS relay assy-valve and the relay assy-actuator. I live in Florida but I order most parts I need from Scottsdale because they are usually much cheaper. The mechanism of concern should be located under the hood at the right rear corner near the fire wall. You should see a little black plastic box mounted to the rear of a silver aluminum mechanism with a number of small metal tubes coming out of it. But you are only concerned with the black plastic box. Remove the cover and you will see the two relays I am talking about. The relays pull right out by pulling up on them. This is what I replaced and solved my problem. Calvin Bryant
How do you reset SRS air bag light on Infiniti Q45 1996?
If your airbag light on your 90-96 Q45 or similar year Infiniti vehicle is blinking, chances are it has been inadvertantly been set into self diagnosis mode. It does not indicate a problem with the airbag system. Unplugging the battery will NOT clear the self diagnosis status. To do this procedure, turn the vehicle on (engine not started) with the drivers side door open. Within 10 seconds of doing that, press the drivers side door switch more than 10 times within those 10 seconds. If you did the procedure correctly, the airbag light should go off. If it does not go off, it means there is a fault with the airbag system.

What causes your 1991 infinity Q45 security light flash and car will not start?
The only method of disarming the security system is thru the door locks, if it does not disarm; this will entail a fault in the security system. First, the vehicle battery will have to be tested, a low, or shorted battery can trigger the security as well. If the battery is good, the sytem will need electrical diagnosis, which I recommend be done at the dealer, since they are more familiar with this vehicle's security system, than most independent facilities are.
How do you replace the fog lamp on your 1998 Infiniti Q45?
I have a 1997 Q45 that should be the same. There is a pull off cover on the outside of the clear lens - I used a screwdriver to pry it off. Under it is a bolt that holds the whole thing in place. Mine was getting water in it. I dried it out and sealed it with bathroom caulk.

How can you tell when a timing belt has broken on a infiniti q 45 1996?
Timing belt on the Infinity is probably actually a chain and quite hard to bread. If it does break, and attempt is made to restart the car, considerable damage can be done to the engine. This is because the engine valves and pistons are not timed correctly so the pistons make contact with the valves resulting in potentially significant damage.
