There is a small hole on the outside edge beneath the carpeted area. Just look along the frame for a small hole, just left a a bit of center. You have to put the tire tool handle into this and crank it down, this will lower the spare from underneath. Hope this helps.

First you unplug the sensor. You need a torx wrench to take out the 2 screws. I actually cleaned mine with a can of mass air flow sensor cleaner (use the whole can - about $8.00) and allow to dry overnight. Don't touch the sensor with your fingers. Plug in and it has worked for over a month.

How do you replace the knock sensor on Infiniti G20?
Are you sure that you need to replace the knock sensor. I have a 1996 G-20. It had 3 check engine codes. #1 was knock sensor, #2 was Egr valve, #3 was O2 sensor. I performed some testing and then replaced the EGR and canister control solenoid. It is located on the back side of the engine and is somewhat accessible from below. After it was replaced all 3 codes cleared within one week. A new unit was $100 from the dealer. It is possible to repair the old one if you are technically and financially inclined. step 1 test egr valve and the vacuum valve attached to it. step 2 remove the Egr and canister control solenoid valve. Test it by blowing air through it and then applying 12 volts to the solenoid. If the air flow does not change it is stuck. Replace or repair it.

NOTE: Read the complete instructions before beginning this procedure.
1). Remove the glove box pivot pins by pulling up on the handle then sliding them inboard and removing the plastic pivot pins at the bottom of the closed glove box (they may be hard to remove) then open the glove box.
2). To remove the retaining cord, the cord disconnects from the glove box. The glove box end which is a plastic retainer, attached to the cord. UN CLIP THE PLASTIC PIECE FROM GLOVE BOX.
3). Remove the right quarter panel plastic piece that is to the right of the glove box on the floor and between the door. IT IS THE CURVED PLASTIC PIECE. Remove the plastic nut and screw/bolt. Then pull it up and toward the front of the car.
4). Remove the brown plastic piece above the glove box THREE screws.
5). Remove the plastic glove box retaining housing FIVE Screws then remove the housing. IT is behind the glove box door. Set it out of the way. NOTE: You will be able to see and access the blower motor.
6). Just left of center, looking straight at the black blower box, remove the clip holding both cabin filters.
7). Remove the filters together. NEW FILTERS SHOULD COME TWO (2) TO A BOX.
8). Install the new filters in the same hole. THEY INTERLOCK (in the center) and are a small challenge to get them back in. Then re-install the retaining clip holding the lower filter to the air box. NOTE: There is NO clip on the top filter.
Replace all components in the reverse order...
