Informative Speech

A sentence that requires only a yes or no answer. for exaple a closed sentence would be do you like cake? but a question that is not closed would be something like what kind of desserts do you like? this has many different possible answers and does not only have a yes or no answer. hope this helps

Some suggestions are:

1. If you want to sound people to think of you as just a regular kid begin with, "I may be running for <position>, but that doesn't mean that I don't mess up like you guys. <tell embarrassing story about yourself> This will make people not think of you as some stuck up student council guy/girl who thinks they're so much better than everybody else.

2. I found a really funny way with one kid started their speech. "Four score and seven years ago, none of us were born, but even then I knew I was going to win this election" I found that pretty funny.

3. Begin with, "I'm actually pretty embarrassed, I was on my way to school and I realized I had forgotten to write a speech, so like any other normal kid, I payed a guy on the street $15 dollars to write one for me, so lets see how it goes." <recite ideas for student council and other boring stuff like that> End with: Wow! I guess I got my money's worth.

4. Is there an inside joke in your school, about a teacher or the stinky smells in the locker rooms. I don't know how strict your school is but you may want to mention that joke in your speech. You have to know your audience, most likely all your voters are students around your age, right? So think about something that you and your friends think is funny, and then try to make a joke about it in your speech.

An extempore speech is given with little preparation. Many times the topic is chosen in competition from a variety of current events to see if a competitor is well versed on the topics of the day.

Today we live in a world of fast communications, fast computers and easy information access; So businesses (big and small) have come to depend on the use of faster, better and smarter communication technology (such as smart phones, computers, the email and Internet technologies) to help them access, gather, share, and process data and information that would help them move their businesses forward effectively. In addition to that, the benefits of globalization have made it affordable for lots of people to own digitized information communication tools. However, because technology and globalization have put information at the fingertips of almost everyone and every business, there is a downside to that overabundance of information. It makes it harder to differentiate between what information is useful or not. Whenever people receive more information than they can effectively process, it creates " information overload," which can negatively affect businesses. In the company where I work, our employees would hardly have time to do their work anymore if they should read and respond to the daily barrage of emails. So, based on that, information overload can lower productivity. On the other hand, some of our employees choose not to read the emails and simply delete them. By deleting most emails to minimize distraction from work, they may be missing out on very important messages. So, in that case, information overload can create the risk of misinformation due to not enough time to assess the validity and usefulness of most of the information being either deleted or adopted. Lastly, information overload can intensify employee stress levels due to the continuous annoyance and anxiety it brings. High stress when sustained affects people's health and costs businesses money.

This model was formed in 1976 by Westley and MacLean. The advantages are that it can account for different modes of communication, i.e, it accounts for both interpersonal and mass media oriented communication. It accounts for feedbacks. It is a predictive, heuristic model of communication and is very descriptive. It isolates the different dimensions of the communication process. This model also accounts for non-binary interactions. This means that it will hold good even for communications involving more than two sources.

The only disadvantage is that despite its descriptive nature, this model is two dimensional and can't account for typical communication events that involve a broader context and a wider range of communication messages. However, there are limitations to almost all models of communication and Westley and MacLean have provided a pretty comprehensive model as far as the working of a typical media organization or institute is concerned.
