Personally, I don't think there is a need to use nuts, drills, nails to hang anything on the wall. This is because there are many products available in the market that provide a drill-free option to the users. For example, most people find Command Strips to be one of the best options while doing so. However, Command strips are useful, however, they don’t provide the reusability to the consumers. Moreover, some of their products can’t be used for multiple purposes. For example, a command hook won’t allow one to hang a photo frame due to its mechanism. As an alternative: I found this new innovative product called KLAPiT. It works as a double-sided tape, just like 3M, but gives us the reusability and versatility through its innovative design. Specifically, it uses 2 steel tapes, with a super-strong magnet that allows users to hang frames, clocks, shelves, paintings, and anything with a flat surface on to the wall. For most guest or hand towels you want to divide the length of the towel by 2, add 3 or 4 inches so the towel doesn't contact the toilet tank top. Also consider that gravity factors into it as well. Ideally, the towel should not hang any higher than the shoulder of the average person using the towel after washing their hands. This is to keep the water on the hands from dripping down the sleeve of the person using the towel.

Then consider the aesthetics of having a decorative item (Guest soap basket or a small floral dish or basket) on top of the toilet tank. Also consider hanging a small picture above the towel bar to balance the effect.

That is just the average size. If you want to compete in todays market you need to go with about 350 square feet which would be around 20x17, 19x18, 20x18, 20x19, etc. Anything over 20x20 is a luxury and should only be put in houses with over 3,500 sq ft of total living space.

Just remember that if you put a master bedroom in your home between 200 and 250 sq ft you need to have a master bathroom that wont put the master bedroom to shame. Same goes for the master bedroom around 350 sq ft. If your master bath is too small it will not be worth the large bedroom it belongs to. Make sure the master bathroom is large with enough space for 4 or more people to fit comfortably in. There are several choices here and a lot may have to do with what your local lumberyard has available. Treated wood is used very often for decks, but is not usually available in T&G. Redwood is available in T&G but is rather expensive and does draw upon our redwood forest reserve. Another choice, and the one I reccomend, is knotty yellow pine. It does come in T&G boards and if it has a lot of sap in it, it is pretty rot resistant. It is not as easy to work with as redwood and the drawbacks are many. The biggest advantages are cost and the woodsy look of knotty pine.

Okay, now we know what we are dealing with and we can start. First, make sure your framework is level and square. A slight slope to the outside is a good thing. From 1/16 to 1/8 in. per foot is good. Since this is T&G there won't be any place for the water to go unless you have a slope and the water will just pond. I hope you have a cover on top or this would not be a good idea.
