Why is home row called home row?
In my younger days,we had row houses. They were all in a row and all looked the same. as in mill hill houses. The mills would build houses and rent them to the mill workers. There is an old saying "I owe my soul to the company store" this also came from the mill hill villages where the mills owned the houses, stores, everything!!
ADDED: As a Transatlantic difference, if these what I think they are - all joined into a long, single building - in the UK they are called "terraced" houses. Although an 18C concept they did become particularly associated with 19C industrial (not just mill) towns, but a lot of modern housing developments now are of terraced form.
The "company store" ethos was used in Britain too, but its inherent unfairness led to its legal abolishment under a 19C law I think called the "Truck Acts".

Can you install wooden floors over ceramic tile?
You are better off ripping out the tiles first. If you really want to lay the hardwood over the tiles, first lay down 3/4 plywood so you have something to staple the new floor to. The ply is glued down with PL, and then screwed into the tiles/sub floor. You will need to pre drill with a masonary bit, and screw in every 12 inches. Seems like more work than ripping the tiles out. And adds an extra 3/4 + tile height + hardwood - how will that transition to other rooms?
What should i choose asphalt or concrete for my entrée de garage(driveway)?
We have had both. Concrete tends to look better and hold up longer, but the surface stones can pop out and the concrete can crack. It is more expensive to install than concrete. We paid additional for a formula that would have fewer surface pops.
New asphalt driveways look nice, too. There are pros and cons to sealing them every year. Sealants give the driveway a new look but don't necessarily prolong the life of the driveway. The surface of an asphalt driveway can become uneven and will crack. Tire pivot points will wear and tire depressions will form where vehicles are regularly parked. The dark color can be a heat sink due to sun exposure and can actually soften with the heat That can be a negative during a hot summer, but our south-facing asphalt driveway seemed to finish snow removal jobs by melting whatever remained. Asphalt is less expensive, but generally needs to be replaced more often than concrete.
Some folks have gone to using paving bricks in driveways. That looks nice, but you have to fight weeks growing in the cracks and it makes for a noisy and bumpy ride for anything wheeled across it. (think wheeled garbage bins or luggage).
Whichever driveway you choose, you need to do your homework on the proper installation and watch that your contractor adheres to those parameters. Also check the contractor's guarantees and reputation. We had to take one contractor to court because an asphalt driveway was installed cold and didn't last a year.

ANS 2 - Both are good products, but so are Mansfield, Porcher, Toto, Franke, Blanco.
I'd recommend visiting a couple of plumbing products showrooms there are many lovely and practical sinks

How do you change bathroom sink?
# When you replace a countertop sink, the replacement sink should be the same size or slightly larger than the original sink for a secure fit. Double-check the measurements of your old sink before purchasing the new one. Measure the length, width and depth of the old sink.
Measure the critical dimensions of the countertop. # Measure the width of the countertop.
# Measure the distance from the front of the sink to the edge of the
countertop (F), and from the back of the sink to the wall or backsplash (B).
Breakdown of pipe assembly # Bring the sink and countertop
measurements with you to the store.
# List the hardware you need or plan to replace: faucet, trap, tailpiece and supply lines. Disconnecting the Plumbing #
Always use padding between
wrenches and couplings to
avoid damaging the finish. # Turn off the water supply. In most bathrooms, the shutoff valves are located under the sink. If not, turn off the water at the main water-supply valve. Test the faucets to make sure the water is off.
Cutaway of a sink clip # Place a bucket under the trap. Loosen the slip nuts on the trap and remove it. Empty the water from the trap into the bucket. If there is a tailpiece connected to the drain assembly, remove it as well.
# Disconnect the supply lines from the faucet. All of the plumbing should now be disconnected from the sink. Removing A Counter Top Sink # If the sink has clips, loosen them from underneath the counter. If the clips won't detach, break them off and throw them away. Be careful not to damage the counter.
# There should be a bead of sealant between the counter and the sink rim. Cut the seal along the rim with a utility knife or wedge it apart with a small pry bar. If you use a pry bar, put cardboard or a rag under it to protect the counter.
# Lift the sink straight up out of the counter. You may need a helper if the sink is too heavy.
# If the sink and countertop are a one-piece unit, there should be sealant holding the countertop to the vanity. Use a utility knife to cut the seal. Be careful not to chip the vanity when breaking the seal. Remove the countertop and sink. You may need a helper if the unit is heavy. Removing a Wall-Mounted Sink # The sink may be heavier than you realize, so ask a helper to hold the sink while you disconnect the plumbing. If the wood behind the sink is rotten, the plumbing may be the only thing holding it up and disconnecting the plumbing could cause it to fall.
# If the sink is mounted in a bracket, you should be able to lift it out as soon as the plumbing is disconnected.
# If the sink is bolted to the wall, have a helper hold the sink while you remove the bolts. Once the bolts are removed, the sink should be free. Installing the New Sink # Install the faucet in the new sink.
# Put a ring of plumber's putty on the drain flange inside the sink. Insert the drain assembly and install any washers provided. Tighten the locking nut until putty squeezes out from the drain flange. Wipe away excess putty.
# Turn the sink upside down on a towel or other nonabrasive surface. Run a 1/4" bead of silicone or latex caulk under the sink rim.
# Carefully lower the sink into position. Press down firmly until caulk squeezes out around the rim of the sink. Wipe off excess caulk.
# If the new sink requires clips, install them at this time.
# To install a wall-mounted sink, see Installing a Pedestal Sink. Connecting Plumbing to the New Sink # Make a final tightening of the drain assembly.
# Connect the supply lines to the faucet tailpieces.
# Connect the stopper assembly according to the manufacturer's instructions. If you are using the old fixture, see Repairing a Pop-Up Stopper.
# If the drain requires a tailpiece between the trap and the drain assembly, install it now. Install the trap. Check all of the connections for tightness.
# Turn the water back on and check for leaks at the faucet. If leaks appear, shut off the water and re-check the connections. Tighten the connections slowly until the leak is stopped.
# Turn on the faucet and check the drain for leaks. If leaks appear, tighten the slip nuts carefully until no leaks are evident.

Is it better to buy furniture online?
You might save some money, and you're probably okay buying things like end tables and bookshelves online, but if you're wanting to sit or even SLEEP on this furniture, you should go to the store and try it out.
if I was you I would by a new house unless you like your house flooding Many things must be taken into cosideration. One is the location you are at. You may have local codes that must be met to ok the work that needs to be preformed. After checking into that, use a builders level and shoot grades to see the land fall of the property and just where the water is going. If there is room to fill in the low area from the house to the furthest point out without covering the foundation too deep you can try that. Keep in mind that the spot under the house will be deeper at that point and you my have the result of water building up underneath the house. Another thing you might be able to do is to shoot a grade to the lowest point closest to the house and then find the point frathes fron the house that is at a lower point. Dig a trench from point to point with the grade slope going away from the home. Place a pipe that is suitable to carry the water, this will act as a storm drain. Any water that might be building in the area could also be drained away by putting in feild lines in the same way septic lines are installed, only they will act in reverse and drain the water from the ground instead of putting water in the ground.

How do you remove a toilet paper holder from the wall?
Do you mean from the toilet (as in you flushed it down)? Well, if this is what you mean, I'll tell you how. If it was recently and it's STILL in there, then ATTACK IT WITH THE PLUNGER!!! If this isn't what you mean, then I can't aswer that... but in terms of the other answer, if it's still in the toilet and it hasn't caused any problems, then either A) by some MIRACLE it managed to get past the toilet loop and is stuck in another spot, allowing the "logs" to get past, or B) the first one (A) did happen, but the toilet thing went down into the rest of the toilet system. I hope this helped!
