For instance, around the holidays the search "cookie recipes" becomes very popular. Therefore, when you start typing "cook", one of the suggestions will be "cookie recipes" because a lot of other people have searched for the same thing. However, when there was a big political story about Sesame Street earlier this year, "Cookie Monster" was a more popular search so it showed up in the suggestions. If there is a big story in the next few months about internet security, the phrase "delete cookies" may show up in the suggestions.

I think the question should be Why Doesn't any business have a website, with so many people online often the first place a potential customer looks is the internet. I bought both my cars sold one car found my house and nearly everything I buy is on the internet. (my wife thinks if she leaves me I would find another one on the internet) Some businesses exclusively have an online presence Amazon.com. Other businesses have retail and online stores Currys, Dixons, PC world etc to get the best of both worlds which is important to get both online and retail business. Another advantage in selling goods is on the internet is that your catch net is international sometimes global. If you look at small businesses and sole traders I can understand why any of these think they don't need an online site. If you are a plumber, carpenter or other tradesman a website is essential, it is a 24 hour advertisement for your services. Most businesses are open office hours, most people search the internet in the evening and weekends, a customer rings your number and not surprisingly your business is shut, Having a website allows your potential customers to see your opening times your prices type of service and any other information you wish to display, imagine what a full page advert in a newspaper would cost you when you can have just that online for a fraction of the price, with a well designed and informative website you will draw many more customers,(with a badly designed one it might well lose you business)I've lost count of the times I have clicked on a website and clicked away when the home page appears due to the appearance of the site). it's okay i suppose but depends a lot on your location and proximity to an exchange. I would be happy enough with it but i only surf the net and don't do much downloading or uploading. In a big city it probably should be faster and in remote areas possibly a lot slower.
