There has never been a strong, but politically correct word for hatred of Moslems and of Islam in English. The current word is Islamophobe, but this word is weak and does not seem to be on the same level of virulence as Anti-Semitism. The word that used to be that strong in Medieval Europe was Anti-Mohammedanism which is currently politically incorrect because Moslems do not worship Mohammed, but worship God though Mohammed's message (as opposed to Christians who worship Christ).

Many Moslems today use the word "Racist" even though Islam is not a race and has members across every major ethnicity (including small Latino communities).

It may be debatable, however, considering the spiritual and worldly achievements together, we can safely say that the Muslim Empire under the rule of second righteous Caliph Hazrat Umar Farooq (RAU) made the greatest achievements.

There are around 446,500 Muslims in Australia, out of a total population of 19,000,000, and they belong to various ethnic backgrounds, including Lebanese, Turkish, and Far Eastern (mainly Chinese).

The two main ways that Islam spread beyond the Arabian Peninsula were: (1) Conquest and Repression and (2) Trade and Evangelism.

1) Conquest and Repression: When the Islamic Empire would conquer a new territory, they would create a set of benefits of which only Muslims could partake, making a choice to be Muslim tied to choices about economic viability (which trades you could work - especially in government) or tied to choices of social standing. These would strongly weight the choice and produce a steady stream of converts by their very nature.

2) Trade and Evangelism: Muslim Merchants spread Islam simply by being people who go to territories outside of the Islamic Empire and talking to locals there. As a natural part of business dealings, these merchants would discuss their religion and, as inevitably happens, some of the locals desired to convert.

The main event was the split into Sunni and Shia sects on the question of succession. The majority Sunnis held that the Khalifa (deputy) should be chosen by the Companions; the minority Shia (or Ali's party) felt he should be related to the Prophet. (Ali's was the Prophet's son-in-law.)

There is no khaifa at the moment, nor has there been one for hundreds of years, so you'd think that the issue of the dispute was moot, but the groups have grown apart in other ways. For example, the Shia are not so freaked out at the idea of artistic depictions of the Prophet (Muhammed is clearly shown in the Persian miniatures) as the Sunni are.

Muslims have been fighting Christians since the earliest incarnations of Islam. It started before Muslim Turks invaded Jerusalem and ceased the city and the surrounding lands in the name of Islam. After Constantinople fell to Muslim Invaders (much like Jerusalem) they ceased most church properties and either killed Christians who would not convert or made them pay the jizah which is a tax Muslims make non-Mulsims pay in order to practice their religion. Egypt, Turky, Iran, Iraq, and other "Muslim" countries were all chrisitan countries long before Muslim Turks invaded.

What foods that Muslims eat on special occasions will vary depending on where they live. Muslims in the middle east often eat lamb on special occasions. They also enjoy a dessert called baklava.
