You have to remove the fuel tank. The pump is inside the tank in a plastic mount. Its about a 4 hour job in and out.

Ok that green box with the clear thimble looking bit on top on the passenger side up near the head lights and the box covering the relays. Is it green inside the clear indicator or clear with a black bit in the middle? If it's not green you're low on mineral oil which gives you brake pressure, ABS and the leveling system in the back if you still have it. It's about 8 bucks a bottle and if you're that low you'll need 1 1/2 bottles to fill you back up. Make sure they sell you the white 1 pint bottles with the hose and green conector so it will fit down into the black plug to fill the res.

Unless you're going to bring your jag to a mechanic, the only way to find out what that light means is to buy a code reader @ $129 at most auto stores. The tool will tell you how to use it and hook it up. Once the code tells you where to look you are then on your own as to what else you need to do. (IE) if the code tells you #3 coil is bad and # 4 is bad you still have to know how to change the coils. Hope this helped Bud Sisto

The antenna motor is located in the right front fender. Access to the motor is via the right front wheel well: remove the front right tire first, then several plastic pop-out fasteners and a few sheet metal screws holding the plastic wheel well cover in place (you can just push it aside, as it's fairly flexible). Two more screws hold the motor in place. If your antenna isn't moving up or down, chances are the mast itself is broken, not the power motor. If it is, you will need to remove the broken peice from inside the motor assembly ( a few screws on the motor will allow you to open it). Once done, put it all back together, turn the radio on and put the new mast in place (in the up position). Now turn the radio off and it should retract; if it doesn't, repeat after turning the mast toothed spline (should be facing toward the vehicle front).

Although there could be many reasons for this, check the obvious first.

If the dash lights work and it won't turn over it oculd be that the starter is bad or that the ignition is not operating. If the dash lights aren't coming on then you need to tighten the leads on the battery.

You can pull the starter off yourself (not an easy job) and have it checked at an auto parts store. Not sure how to check the ignition.

If you have any buddies that know anything about cars I would have them look at this.

Check the fuse. If it is good, then find a good A/C shop and take it in for repair. Not a DIY job. I have the same vehicle. Does the compressor come on when you switch the ac on? You have to have the hood open to hear it. The ac won't come on if the ac coolant is low. There is a sight glass on the condeser (passanger side near the radiator). If it's black, then your low on coolant. You can use Freeze 12, which is better, or R-134a. Be sure to snug up the lines that you can reach before adding coolant. The Jaguar XJ6 that has dual tanks holds 10 gallons in each tank. There is a tank change solenoid right below the power radio antenna in the trunk. The solenoid may be replaced with a similar solenoid or the solenoid can be replaced with a tee. This will allow the gas to equalize in both tanks. The down side of the tee is that you must still fill both tanks as the gas cannot equalize as fast as one tank is filled. You must also remember that the gas gauge is indicating the gas level of both tanks.

Older tanks may have a lot of rust in them. Rock Valley Auto had replacement tanks at a reasonable cost compared to cleaning the old tanks.

It should be Dexron III, but I would use the new Mobil 1, for the extra two bucks you have a full synthetic trans fluid, which unlike motor oil, will be in your transmission for probably 24,000 miles unless of course you choose to change the fluid more regularly.

have you tried opening up your door and trying to fix it?

my handle on the outside woulnt work so i opened it up and there is a linkage with a screw holding it together, adjusting this nut to the center most position fixed it. now it opens just fine. otherwise its a 250+ fix

You have to use your key then manually pull the remaining locks open by hand.

The spark plugs are under a cover that's over the top of the valve cover. Unscrew it and hello to six spark plus. FYI I would recommend NGK only! don't fall for the bosch trap! I'm rick James
